the clarity we’ve been getting in our liquid cultures by using dextrose as opposed to honey/corn syrup/LME/DME etc. has been awesome.
we’ve found that additives like nutritional yeast and soy peptone in large amounts really cloud the jars, but dextrose just seems to disappear when sterilized.
we ph our liquid cultures based of their genus/species with the addition of KH₂PO₄ (monopotassium phosphate) and it really stabilizes the useful life of the cultures by acting as a ph buffer.
this particular culture does have a small amount of DME and a minuscule amount of soy peptone but not enough to haze the clarity.
we’re always working to evolve our premium liquid cultures, and when the results knock it out of the park, it’s a happy day over here. 🤙🏻
