A Mother's Heart Was Born From Brokenness
People often see the mission now.
They see the shirts, the posts, the outreach, the vision, and the dream of helping families heal. They see the smiles in the pictures and the passion behind the words.
What they don't always see is where it started.
A Mother's Heart was not born from having all the answers. It wasn't born from success, stability, or having life figured out.
It was born from brokenness.
There was a time in my life when addiction had taken everything from me. I knew what it felt like to sit in shame. I knew what it felt like to miss birthdays, milestones, and moments that I could never get back. I knew what it felt like to wonder if restoration was even possible.
When God began rebuilding my life, He didn't just restore my sobriety. He began restoring my heart.
Years later, when I became a mother again, I was overwhelmed with gratitude—but also fear. I was terrified that someone would take him away. Terrified I would fail. Terrified that my past would somehow determine my future.
I knew how to get sober.
I knew how to stay sober.
But no one had taught me how to be a mother while healing.
No one had taught me how to process the grief of what had been lost while embracing the gift of what had been restored.
And I realized there were countless others walking the same road.
Women trying to rebuild. Men trying to reconnect with their children. Families trying to learn how to live differently after years of chaos.
That's where A Mother's Heart began.
Not as an organization.
Not as a ministry.
But as a burden God placed inside my heart for families who are fighting for another chance.
We believe recovery is more than sobriety. Recovery is learning how to be present. Learning how to love. Learning how to parent. Learning how to trust God again. Learning how to build healthy homes when you've never seen one modeled before.
We believe people deserve support not just when they enter recovery—but long after.
We believe families can heal.
We believe children matter.
We believe restoration is possible.
And we believe that no matter how far someone has fallen, God is still in the business of rebuilding lives.
Every outreach event, every meal served, every prayer prayed, every resource shared, and every step we take toward building A Mother's Heart comes from one simple truth:
Someone once helped us when we needed it most.
Now it's our turn to help others.
If you're reading this and you're in a hard season, don't give up.
Your story isn't over.
The chapter you're in today may be painful, but it doesn't have to be the final chapter.
God has a way of taking the places we thought were ruined forever and turning them into the very places where ministry begins.
That's what He did for me.
And I believe He can do it for you too.
With love,
a mothers heart ❤️
