Janet L. Stafford, 82, of Huntington, passed away at 8:00 pm Friday, August 7, 2026 at Waters of Huntington.

Janet was born on July 31, 1944 in Huntington, IN, the daughter of Lyle Cook and Margaret (May) Cook. She graduated from Huntington High School with the Class of 1963 and she earned her bachelor's degree from Huntington College.

Survivors include her Brother, Donald E. (Leta) Cook of Lancaster, OH; Two Sisters, Lois (Wayne) Smith of Warsaw, IN, and Patricia (Richard) Delmastro of Arizona; . She is preceded in death by her Husband, Robert Stafford, Father, Lyle Cook, and Mother, Margaret Cook.

Burial will take place at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

Anastasia “Ann” Whitty Mauger, age 93, of Anderson, SC and formerly of Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Born May 26, 1933, in Long Island, New York, Ann was the daughter of the late James Whitty and Josephine Skarzenski Whitty. She married Richard Lee Mauger, the love of her life, in 1953, and they shared 66 years of marriage before his passing in 2019. Ann devoted many years to raising her family at home before later working at Wabash Magnetic, where she remained for several years until retiring.

As the first daughter in her family, Ann took on the responsibility of caring for her younger siblings from an early age. Her caring and dependable nature remained a defining part of who she was throughout her life. A perfectionist at heart, Ann took pride in everything she did, always making sure that even the smallest detail was just right.

Ann enjoyed golfing, reading, crocheting, gardening, and crossword puzzles. For several years, she and her daughter, Kay, played fast-pitch softball together, with her husband, Richard, serving as their coach. These years created special memories for their family and reflected Ann's love of being active and spending time with those she loved.

Most of all, Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family beyond measure. Her love, dedication, and attention to every detail touched the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her...

Richard “Rick” Eugene Zahm Jr., 55, of Huntington, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026. He was born on May 13, 1971, to Richard “Dick” Zahm and Susan “Susie” (Scher) Parker and raised in Huntington, Indiana. After graduation from Huntington North High School in 1989, he attended FlightSafety International in Florida. Rick was a pilot for over 30 years, most recently as a Captain for Delta Air Lines.

On March 22, 2003, Rick married Laura Burcham. The couple have two beautiful daughters, Emma and Maddie. Rick was a devoted father and husband. Family trips were an important part of their story. He and his family visited more than 20 national parks and took several road trips to attend concerts of their favorite classic rock bands like The Eagles, The Guess Who, Chicago, and ELO. Those outings were never just about the show; they were about being together, making memories, and giving his daughters a part of the music that meant so much to him.

At home, Rick enjoyed spending time in his barn and working on his property. To know Rick was to appreciate his humor, his willingness to use his practical knowledge helping family and friends, his meticulous attention to detail, and the steady way he showed up for those around him. He was a member of Huntington First Church of the Nazarene and was a dedicated volunteer for Operation Christmas Child.

Terri Lynn Chunn, 48, of Huntington, passed away at 1:40 pm Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Terri had been fighting breast cancer for 5 years and 5 months, she is now free.

Terri was born on December 23, 1977, in Lorain, OH, the daughter of Jonas Hamilton and Carol (Newsome) Hamilton. She graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1997. Terri married the love of her life, Harry Joe Chunn, on October 9, 2009, in Huntington, IN. Terri worked as a production worker for many years at United Technologies of Huntington and CPI Card Group of Fort Wayne. Terri loved spending time with and traveling with her husband, Harry, Daughter, Izzy, and Granddaughter, Ava. She also enjoyed watching crime shows. Although Terri had been fighting cancer for over 5 years, she never let it slow her down or change her go getter personality.

Kathy was born on January 4, 1951, in Huntington, IN, the daughter of Carl Hale and Barbara (Frederick) Hale. Kathy married the love of her life, Rick Bowers, on June 2, 1973, in Huntington, IN. She retired from Square D of Huntington, IN after 10 years of service. Kathy was a devoted member of American Legion Post 85 and VFW Post 2689. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her Husband, Rick W. Bowers of Huntington, IN; and Sister, Lorraine Hale. She is preceded in death by her Father, Carl W Hale, Mother, Barbara A Hale, and Brother, Keith A Hale.

Peter C. Weicht, 66, of Wolcottville, formerly of Huntington, passed away at 12:18 pm Monday, August 10, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Peter was born on May 31, 1960, in Columbia City, IN, the son of Charles Weicht and Lola (Kohnke) Weicht. He graduated from Huntington North High School in 1978. Peter loved to play music; he was a member of the bands Spectrum and GunSlinger, both were well known local bands around the Huntington and Fort Wayne areas. He was very interested in cars and had a big influence on his children’s love and knowledge of cars and music.

Survivors include his Two Sons, Jacob (Christina) Weicht of Albion, MI, Peter "Pete" (Jillian Weaver) Weicht Jr. of Eaton Rapids, MI; One Daughter, Hannah French of WV; Two Grandchildren and Two Brothers, Matt Weicht of Huntington, IN, Mark Weicht of Burbank, CA. He is preceded in death by his Father, Charles E. Weicht, Mother, Lola Ann Weicht and Brother, Paul Weicht.

There will be no services at this time. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington, IN.

Michael "Milford" L. Searles, 68, of LaFontaine, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026 at his residence.

Milford was born on January 2, 1958 in Huntington, IN, the son of Glen Searles and Wiladean (Drabenstot) Searles. He graduated from Huntington North High and worked as a Truck Driver. Milford enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching softball.

Survivors include his Daughters, Ashley (Don) Ball of North Liberty, IA, Carly (Rita) Searles of Seymour, IN, Abby (Nate) Ayers of Bloomington, IN; Sister, Melinda A. (Greg) McLaughlin of Nappanee, IN; and his Four Grandchildren, Delaney Ball, Justin Berry, Abbi Berry, and Hyland Ayers. He is preceded in death by his Father, Glen E. Searles, Mother, Lois "Wiladean" Searles, and Brother, Mark Allen Searles.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Adkins Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Susan "Susie" J. Parker, 80, of Huntington, passed away at 8:55 pm Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Heritage Pointe of Warren.

Susie was born on June 18, 1946 in Huntington, IN, the daughter of Earl Scher and Helen (Christman) Scher. She graduated from Huntington High School with the Class of 1965. Susie worked as the Head Cashier at Lutheran Health Network, retiring in 2018 after 12 years of service. She enjoyed raising her children and working in the family business. Susie lived in Arizona for several years where she loved hiking the mountains, the vast beauty of the desert, and the Native American culture. She also loved decorative painting and crocheting.

Survivors include her two Daughters, Connie Smith of Huntington, IN, Cindy (Mike) Cook of Huntington, IN; Son, Rick (Laura) Zahm of Huntington, IN; Sister, JoAnn Scher of Steamboat Springs, CO; seven Grandchildren; and four Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Helen Scher, Father, Earl Scher, and Brother, Thomas E. Scher.

Willard "Monty" E. Montgomery, Jr., 83, of Warren, passed away at 2:52 am Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Heritage Pointe of Warren.

Monty was born on April 14, 1943, in Robinson, IL, the son of Willard Montgomery and Mary (McCarty) Montgomery. He graduated from Thornridge High School with the Class of 1961 and attended Illinois State University. He married Grace Louise Ashmore on May 8, 1965, in Dolton, IL. She preceded him in death on September 19, 2010.

A loving husband and father, Monty was always a steady presence who would do absolutely anything for his family. An avid photographer who loved to travel and camp alongside his wife, Grace, he famously dragged his children across the country on long summer vacations. Through it all, Monty took great pride in visiting all 50 States and every Canadian Province multiple times, armed always with his camera and a favorite corny dad-joke.

Professionally, he dedicated 40 years to the postal service, capping off his career as the Postmaster for the Huntington Post Office from 1982 until his retirement in 2001. He was also a proud member of the Kiwanis of Huntington.

Survivors include his two sons and one daughter:

Ronald "Ron" A. Fitch, 82, of Ossian, passed away at 1:48 pm Saturday, July 25, 2026 in Huntington, IN.

Ron was born on December 25, 1943 in Huntington, IN, the son of Kenneth Fitch and Edna (Kline) Fitch. He graduated from Union High School with the Class of 1961 and married Patricia Joan Cook on September 27, 1962 in Huntington, IN. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2017. Ron was a Farmer of 600 acres. He also worked at Triad-Utrad, Huser Cigar Company, and the Indiana Department of Transportation in Laud, IN. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church. Ron enjoyed watching sports and rooting for Purdue University and the Indianapolis Colts. He loved talking about farming.
