Jason R. Phillips, 55 of Huntington, passed away on Sunday morning August 2, 2026 at his home. Jason was a 1989 graduate of Huntington North High School, and a 1994 graduate of Purdue University. Jason worked as a math teacher at Huntington North High School for seven years, where he also served as an assistant coach of the baseball team. He then worked as an engineer at M&S Sheet metal for 10 years. Jason loved sports and was longtime board member and coach for Huntington County Baseball. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Purdue Boilermaker fan. Along with his love of sports, Jason enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts, especially Sammy Hagar. He will be greatly missed.

Jason was born on October 16, 1970 in Huntington. A son of the late Jerald J. and Sharon K. (Landes) Phillips.

He is survived by a son: Hunter Phillips of Huntington; a brother: Jeff Phillips of Huntington; two nieces: Macy (Nick) Aouhalkah of Huntington, and Madison Phillips of Huntington; and a nephew: Montana Phillips of Huntington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Norbert C. Sterling, 91 of Huntington, passed away on Monday evening July 27, 2026 at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Norbert was born on November 17, 1934 in Fort Wayne, a son of the late William and Bernadette (Thicke) Sterling.

He was united in marriage to Betty Anne Tanner. She preceded him in death on November 12, 2001.

He is survived by his daughter Mary Carney of Texas.

Norbert was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

To honor Norbert's wishes, there will be no public services at this time.

Betty Ann Brickley, 72 of Warren, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at her residence. Betty worked as a CNA at Markle Health and Rehab for 30 years. She loved the outdoors and could be found working in her gardens and flowerbeds, or enjoying the birds. In her free time she enjoyed sewing and listening to Rock "n" Roll music, especially her favorite singer Bob Seagar. She was a history buff and never missed an opportunity to attend the Mississinewa 1812 reenactments.

Betty was born on February 1, 1954 in Wi******er, Indiana a daughter of the late Gerald and Priscilla May.

She was united in marriage to Brian Brickley on September 10, 2005 in Nashville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2025.

Survivors include a daughter: Desiree (Dustan) Jenkins of Oklahoma; a sister: Patty May of Portland, IN; and four grandchildren: Austin (Kaitlyn) Shuler., McKinley Huffman, Savannah Jenkins, and Gunner Jenkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother: Larry May

A graveside burial of ashes will take place at Sparks Cemetery in Wells County at a later date.

Norma L. Tribolet, 89, of Huntington, passed away on Sunday July 26, 2026 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Norma was a 1954 graduate of Roanoke High School. She worked as the secretary at St. Peter's First United Church of Christ in Huntington for several years. After retiring Norma volunteered at Love United where she worked as the coordinator of the food pantry. Along with her husband, she spent her life working the family farm. In her free time Norma had many hobbies that she enjoyed including sewing, cross stitch, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and canning. Most of all Norma loves spending time with her family.

Norma was born on August 4, 1936 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Warren and Violet (Westafer) Colclesser.

She was united in marriage to Rex E. Tribolet on May 29, 1955 in Huntington. Rex preceded her in death on July 17, 2026.

Survivors include two sons: Mike (Polly) Tribolet of Warren, and Scott (Julie) Tribolet of Brandon Mississippi; two daughters: Donna (Rick) Uecker, and Karen (Doug) Tuesch of Huntington; two brothers: Max Colclesser of Roanoke, and Roger (Ellen) Colclesser of Roanoke; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and a sister-in-law: Mona Coclesser.

A visitation will be held on Friday July 31, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.

A funeral service will be held on Friday July 31, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.

Interment will be at Shock Cemetery in Huntington.

Monte Lee Voght, of Huntington, passed away Saturday evening July 25, 2026, at his home. How do we sum up someone's life in a dash? 1940-2026, eighty-six full long years summed up by a dash. As a family we can summarize some things, but anyone who knew Monte knew he was a simple man. He was a jeans and flannel kind of guy, but he taught us all to not live beyond our means and to enjoy every second of life. Even in the bad moments he sure left a heck of a legacy for his family. Monte's family was his true pride and joy, especially his greats, the only thing he ever asked for was our time which was something precious to him. Whether it was a cup of coffee or to raid his candy dish, that was the first thing he’d offer with a smile when you walked in his door. From serving in the military, hunting, gardening, or fishing he was a true man’s man. Monte was a hardworking man, in his lifetime he worked for Madison Silos, Keene Corp., and he retired from Orton Crane. Before his working years, he served our country as an Army Specialist E-4 From 1959 to 1963, when he was honorably discharged and decided to settle down. He married Esther Waldron and they had a twenty-seven-year marriage which gave them five kids and many grand and great grand kids. In his later days he spent his time with his life partner Charlotte Slater going fishing, listening to music, and just truly enjoying each other's time. Monte sure has broken a lot of hearts, but he made sure to overfill them with love first, he truly will be missed.

Monte was born on March 20, 1940, in Huntington, a son of the late Lewis and Quma Maxine (Myers) Voght.

Survivors include two daughters: Tammy Wells of Huntington and Sherry (James) Miller of Andrews; a son James Voght of Huntington; a sister: Susan (Terry) Scher of Fort Wayne; fifteen grandchildren: Shawna (Johnny) Young, Laura (Beaux) Riley, Bill (Joyce) Wells, Savanah (David) Harrison, Molly Wells, Rick Voght, Jedsica Ness, Herman (Abby) Ness, Monte Ness, Brittany Miller, Kayla Hagerman, Mirina Voght, Kya Voght, Damon Voght and Karma Voght; and twenty- nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter: Montie Ann; a son: Terry Voght; a grandson Tanner Voght; three brothers Ted, Dale and Bill and three sisters Pat, Chris and Judy

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.

Funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the services.

Rex A Solloway, of Huntington, passed away at The Heritage of Warren, early Sunday morning, July 19, 2026.
Rex was born on April 1, 1939 in Huntington, IN. The son of the late Harold A. and Mary Helen (Folk) Solloway.

He was united in marriage to Janice A. (Carroll), the love of his life, on October 7, 1961 at Bethel Church, Huntington, IN, his wife survives. Their love was a true love story, meeting each other in the summer of 1945 when Rex was 6 years old and Janice was 4 years old, living across the street from each other. Janice was always his best friend, growing up, but they didn’t start dating until early 1961 and marrying later that same year.

He graduated from Huntington High School in 1957. He then went on to trade school, graduating as a Certified Electric Motor Repairman. He worked at General Electric as a motor winder for 27 years and retired from Electric Power Service after 27 years. Rex served as a Sergeant in the 38th Infantry of the Indiana National Guard, Huntington, IN. He was a member of Bethel Riverside Church for his entire adult life. He was an avid fan of IU Basketball, the Chicago Cubs, and the Indianapolis Colts. He also loved fishing for bluegill and bowling for “Woody’s” for almost 40 years. But most of all, his favorite sport was whatever his 2 grandsons, Luke and Logan, were playing. He adored his grandsons. His favorite nickname, which Luke gave him, was “Grandpa Dork.” He loved it!

Additional survivors include: a daughter, Susan K (Gregory) Stroud of Huntington; grandsons, Luke A (Marah) Stroud of Roanoke and Logan R Stroud of Huntington; a brother: Ned (Kathy) Solloway of Wabash; a sister-in-law: Kate Gearhart of Markle; nephews: Michael (Christine) Schnitz of Huntington, Mark (Cindy) Solloway of Wabash, Matthew (Cindy) Solloway of Hartford City, Jeff, Kentin, and Jay Gearhart, Nicholas (Angela) Carroll, FL, Christopher (Chip) Carroll, SC; nieces: Penny Powers of FL, Pamela (Lee) Risher of Wabash, Deb Gearhart, Joni (Dick) Furnish of Huntington, and Jennifer (James) Piatt of MI.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents; a half brother Fred Gearhart, paternal grandparents Arthur & Nellie (Schroeder) Solloway, and maternal grandparents Mr & Mrs Henry Folk.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington Indiana, 46750.

Rex Eugene Tribolet, 89 of Huntington, passed away late Friday morning July 17, 2026 at Heritage Pointe of Huntington. Rex was a 1954 graduate of Clear Creek High School and was a lifetime farmer. He was member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Huntington. Rex spent a lot of his time volunteering in the community, helping deliver homebound meals with Parkview Huntington Hospital and volunteering at United With Love. Rex Loved rooting for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Indiana Hoosiers, and all HNHS sports teams. Most of all, Rex was a family man that loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Rex was born on August 6, 1936 in Huntington, a son of the late Clifford V. and Bernice B. (Michel) Tribolet.

He was united in marriage to Norma Colclesser on May 29, 1955 in Huntington. His wife survives in Huntington.

Additional survivors include two sons: Michael (Polly) Tribolet of Warren, and Scott (Julie) Tribolet of Brandon, Mississippi; two daughters: Donna (Rick) Uecker of Huntington and Karen (Doug) Teusch of Huntington; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Friday July 24, 2026 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.

A Funeral service will be held on Saturday July 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. with one hour of calling prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.

Interment will take place at the Shock Cemetery in rural Huntington County.

Glen "Bill" William Gooley, 77, of Huntington passed away on Tuesday evening July 14, 2026 at Parkview Randallia in Fort Wayne. Bill had worked for General Electric for 15 years, prior to spending over 30 years at General Motors. Bill loved playing co****le, camping, fishing, and mushroom hunting.

He was born on May 8, 1949 in Huntington, a son of the late Melvin and Charlotte (Booher) Gooley.

He was united in marriage to Deborah Huston on August 22, 1987 in Huntington, his wife survives in Huntington.

Additional survivors include three daughters: Sondra (Kent) Wright of Bluffton, Jessica (Mike) James of Fort Wayne, and Jennifer Gooley of Fort Wayne; a sister: Alice Wiley of Huntington; seven grandchildren: Granger Clark, Noah Clark, Onyx Bowen, Nathaniel James, Zayden James, Isabella James, and Darius James.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Charles "Chuck" Gooley and Dave Gooley; and a brother-in-law: Jerry Wiley

Helen Marie Sweetland 75, of Huntington, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 8, 2026 at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne.
Helen was born on February 27, 1951, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Hulett and Dorothy (Bliss) McNew.

On September 1, 1973, she married her college sweetheart. Gregory Sweetland. Together they shared many years of marriage until his passing on July 11, 2019.

Helen is survived by her son, Michael Sweetland of Roanoke; two daughters: Rebekah Hall of Huntington, and Christine (Matthew) Jansick of Georgia; her grandchildren, Elle, Luke, Isabella, Andrew and Peter, and her brother: Marvin (Kristy) McNew Sr.

Helen’s Christian faith was the foundation of her life. She found strength, comfort, and hope in her relationship with Jesus Christ, and she sought to reflect His love through the way she cared for her family and those around her. More than anything, Helen desired for future generations to know the same faith that sustained her throughout her life. Her heartfelt encouragement to her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her would be simple yet profound: read God’s Word, pray every day, and continue growing in faith and trust in the Lord. She believed there was no greater inheritance she could leave than encouraging future generations to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. I John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

A private graveside service will be held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion.
