Donnie Lynn Alford, 69 of Markle, passed away on Friday May 22, 2026 at his residence. Donnie had worked many jobs throughout his life prior to retiring from ALH Lumberyard. Donnie was a handyman that could fix anything when he set his mind to it. He was always up for an adventure, whether that be riding his motorcycle around, cruising in his jeep, or throwing tubers off the tubes on the lake. Donnie was quite the jokester. Whenever his children and friends were over he was always known for playing tricks and scaring them half to death. He endured himself to them and became a second father to many of his children's friends growing up. Not only was he a great father and father figure, but he was the greatest animal lover you’d meet, stealing everyone’s dogs to take them to the park and for ice cream.

Donnie was born on December 1, 1956, in Bluffton a son of the late James and Frances (Allison) Alford.

Survivors include a daughter: Allison (Dustin Clark) Alford of Markle; a son Garret McBride of Fort Wayne; a sister: Kay (Kurt) Ullman of Carmel; and five grandchildren.
