One of the most heartbreaking things we hear from LGBTQ+ people is this:

“There was a time when I went to bed hoping I wouldn’t wake up.”

Not because they were LGBTQ+.

Not because they were gay, le***an, bisexual, transgender, or nonbinary.

But because they had been taught that who they were was wrong.

Wrong to love.
Wrong to exist.
Wrong to be themselves.

When a message causes people to hate themselves so deeply that they wish they could disappear, it’s worth asking whether that message reflects truth, compassion, or love.

As parents, grandparents, family members, friends, and people of faith, we should never be comfortable with beliefs that leave people feeling hopeless, ashamed, or unworthy of life itself.

Everyone deserves to grow up knowing they are loved.

Everyone deserves to know they have value.

And no one should ever go to bed believing the world would be better without them in it.

That’s one of the reasons Pride matters.

Because visibility matters.
Acceptance matters.
Belonging matters.

And sometimes the simple message, “You are loved and celebrated exactly as you are,” can be the difference between despair and hope. 🩷

This Pride Month, MUCC stands with every individual embracing who they are—loudly, proudly, and unapologetically. Your identity is valid, your story matters, and you deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

We also recognize that pride and mental health go hand in hand. It is okay to seek support, to take time for yourself, and to prioritize your well-being. You are not alone, and there is strength in reaching out. Together, we can build a community where everyone feels safe, supported, and proud of who they are—this month and every day.

🌈 Pride, Mental Health & Human Rights 🌈

Pride is more than a celebration—it’s a reminder that every person deserves dignity, respect, safety, and the freedom to be themselves.

Mental health and human rights are deeply connected. When people are accepted, supported, and valued for who they are, communities become stronger and healthier. Everyone deserves access to affirming care, supportive relationships, and spaces where they can live authentically without fear of discrimination.

This Pride Month, let’s continue to champion inclusion, compassion, and equality for all.

❤️ Mental health is a human right.
🧡 Acceptance saves lives.
💛 Everyone belongs.

🌈 Pride Month & Mental Health Awareness 💚

This Pride Month, MUCC proudly stands with LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. Pride is a celebration of identity, resilience, and the freedom to be yourself—but it’s also a reminder of the importance of mental health and emotional well-being.

Everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and valued. Creating safe, inclusive spaces where people can access resources, connect with others, and seek help without fear is essential to building stronger communities.

If you or someone you know is struggling, remember that reaching out for support is a sign of strength. Together, we can help reduce stigma, encourage understanding, and promote mental wellness for all.

🌈 Celebrate who you are.
💚 Prioritize your mental health.
🤝 Support one another.
