Myth: “I should wait until I’m really hurting to get a massage.”

Fact: Waiting until you’re in a full flare makes everything harder — for your body and your nervous system.

By the time your pain is at a 9/10, your nervous system is already in crisis mode. Muscles are guarding, your breathing is shallow, and your brain is on high alert trying to protect you. In that state, even good pressure can feel like “too much,” and it usually takes more sessions to help things calm down.

Early, consistent bodywork is like routine maintenance, not an emergency repair. Gentle, nervous-system-focused massage can help your muscles stay more adaptable, your joints move better, and your brain feel safer in your own body. You don’t have to wait until you “earn” help by being miserable.

Myth: “If my low back hurts, you should only work my low back. If my shoulder hurts, only touch my shoulder.”

Fact: Your body works in chains, not separate pieces. Low back pain can be connected to tight hips and glutes. Neck and shoulder pain can come from your chest and how you use your phone. When we work “random” areas, we’re following how your muscles and fascia actually connect so your relief lasts longer than just the car ride home.

So if we step away from the exact sore spot during your session, we’re not ignoring your pain—we’re following the chain so your whole body can breathe a little easier. 🤍
