We're kicking off National Assisted Living Week early with a wonderful surprise! Pines resident Dave and his family generously provided a bundle of snacks for our team to enjoy. Their enclosed note read "Happy National Assisted Living Week! We are so incredibly grateful for the team of people who care for the people we love who live at Ecumen. It takes more than a village to care for our loved ones, and we trust you each and every day to do so with very little thanks. You deserve more than a recognition week! A small thank you from our family to your team. We know when we can't be here, you are! Thank you for being our eyes and ears as our dad enjoys the people who share his world every day. We appreciate you more than you know. Thank you to Dave and his family for helping us start the week on such a thoughtful note!

Join us as we explore the many transitions life brings—both the challenges and the opportunities for growth. This supportive gathering offers space for grief support, education, and meaningful connection with others who have experienced losses of various kinds, including the death of a loved one, shifts in independence and residence, changes in relationships, and other significant life changes.

Led by Ecumen Hospice staff, our time together provides a compassionate environment to share stories, learn new insights, and walk alongside one another as we navigate grief and discover new beginnings. Some special visitors stopped by our community today! A mama duck and her adorable ducklings found a cozy spot outside, bringing smiles to residents and team members alike. Moments like these remind us to slow down, enjoy nature, and appreciate the simple joys that brighten our day.

We are incredibly grateful to the I.J. Burich Family Foundation and Citizens Bank for investing in the future of dementia care at Ecumen Oaks & Pines.

Thanks to this generous grant, we've officially begun our Montessori Inspired Lifestyle journey with the Center for Applied Research in Dementia. This approach focuses on each person's strengths, abilities, and purpose—creating more meaningful moments and deeper connections for the residents we serve.

4th Annual Beat the Heat Ice Cream Social

Our 4th Annual Beat the Heat Ice Cream Social was a fantastic afternoon of cool treats and classic cars!

A big thank you to the classic car owners from our community who brought their beautiful hot rods and vintage vehicles for everyone to enjoy. We also appreciate Chito's Ice Cream Truck for helping everyone beat the heat with delicious ice cream treats.

Congratulations to our very own Marvin for taking home the Resident Choice Award!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this annual tradition another great success. We can't wait to do it again next year!

Sparring Practice Fun!

Residents enjoyed an afternoon of sparring practice as we laced up the boxing gloves and took on the punching bag! There were plenty of powerful punches, lots of encouragement, and even more laughter along the way.

Programs like these are a great way to stay active, build confidence, and most importantly, have fun together. We had a knockout time and can't wait for the next round!

Resident Outing: Texas Roadhouse!

At the request of our residents, we recently made the trip to St. Cloud for a delicious meal at Texas Roadhouse—and it did not disappoint!

From fresh-baked rolls and peanuts to juicy chicken and perfectly cooked steaks, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Great food, wonderful company, and plenty of smiles made for a memorable afternoon together.

Resident-requested outings are one of the many ways we support choice, independence, and meaningful experiences. We can't wait to see where our next adventure takes us!
