Savasana is the most important pose in yoga.
Not the most impressive. Not the most challenging. The most important.
Here's why.
Your body needs time to integrate what just happened. All that movement, all that breath work, all that focused attention. Savasana is when your nervous system actually absorbs it. Skip it and you've done most of the work for none of the payoff.
It's also, for a lot of people, the only moment in their entire day when they are lying still with zero obligations and no one needing anything from them.
That's not nothing. That's medicine.
So when class ends and your brain says "I can just skip the end". Stay. A few more minutes. You deserve it.
(And yes, it's completely normal to fall asleep. We take that as a compliment.)
