Tom L. Neal, age 81, of Linn Creek, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He was born in Crocker on January 20, 1945, son of the late Howard and Marie (Krouse) Neal. On December 24, 1966, in Crocker, Tom was united in marriage to Susan (Glawson) Neal, who survives at their home.

Tom was a graduate of Crocker High School and was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in the simple blessings of life. He had a deep love for hunting, and he shared that passion with his family, passing down not only the tradition itself but also the joy and memories that came with it. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Their love meant everything to him, and he lived each day guided by a deep and abiding faith.

He was a member of the Iberia Masonic Lodge where he received his 50-year pin and was an active and devoted member of Camdenton United Methodist Church, where he served as administrative trustee and sang in the choir. He later attended Linn Creek Baptist Church. Tom will be remembered for his kind heart, his steady presence, and the love he shared with those around him.

As a career educator, Tom devoted over 35 years to teaching industrial arts, a profession he embraced with a genuine love for helping others learn, and took great pride in guiding his students, earning him the “Teacher of the Year” award twice. He made a lasting difference in the lives of many young people who were fortunate to learn from him.
In addition to his beloved wife, Susan, Tom is survived by his daughter, Dr. Jana (Stephen Starwalt) Schaefer; his son, Dr. Ryan (Michelle) Neal; and his cherished grandchildren, William Starwalt, Delaney (Nicholas) Andolino, Broden (Yassmin) Schaefer, Winton Neal, Aidan (AubryAnna) Neal, and Aubrey Neal. He is also survived by his brothers- and sisters-in-law Alan (Sherry Jo) Glawson, Keith (Susan LeAnn), and (Karen) Glawson, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Marie Neal. brother and sister-in-law, H. Wayne (Shirley) Neal, in-laws Joseph and Faith Glawson, and brother-in-law Joe Paul Glawson.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with funeral service immediately following at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Camdenton United Methodist Church, 340 West Highway 54, Camdenton, MO 65020. Interment will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at Crocker Cemetery in Crocker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the College of the Ozarks Alumni Association, P.O. Box 17, Point Lookout, MO 65726-9986.

Leroy Wilfred Scheulen, age 72, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at his home. He was born in Meta on October 13, 1953, son of the late Lawrence and Agatha (Rehagen) Scheulen. On January 8, 2010, Leroy was united in marriage to Judith Ellen Kirk, who survives at their home.

Leroy attended St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta, where his faith remained an important part of his life. He worked for many years as an accountant for the Department of Corrections, until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Scheulen; four children, RJ (Melissa) Scheulen, Jamie (Wesley) Atwell, Jessica Scheulen, and Carrie (Ryan) Schupp; grandchildren; sister, Phyllis (Bill) Brand; brother, Lawrence “Junior” Scheulen; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Agatha Scheulen; and two brothers, James and Robert Scheulen.

Leroy’s final wishes were to be cremated. No services are planned at this time.

Ramona Lois Ricker, age 91, of Meta, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born in Meta on April 16, 1935, daughter of the late James Henry and Mildred (McKee) Ricker.

Ramona was a devoted member of Ricker Memorial Church of the Nazarene and lived her faith with steadfast devotion. She dearly loved her family and found great joy in the simple blessings of life, especially her church, reading, and tending to flowers.

She is survived by her son, James Ricker; sister, Janice Wenzel; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Hirsty Ricker, and brother-in-law, Bernard Wenzel.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a Memorial Service immediately following at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Ricker Memorial Church of the Nazarene in Van Cleve with Shelby Barnhart officiating. Inurnment will be held at Southside Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ramona Ricker Memorial Fund.

Louis John Brandt, age 87, of Meta, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at University Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Meta on June 24, 1938, son of the late Frank and Bernadine (Hake) Brandt.

Louis attended St. Cecilia School in Meta. A lifelong farmer, he was also a timber cutter and sold and serviced chainsaws. He found joy in life’s simple blessings - with family, good friends, and rebuilding tractors.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Clarkston; one niece, Heather Luebbert; one nephew, Heath Clarkston all of Jefferson City; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bernadine Brandt; sister, Catherine Gray; brother, Hubert Brandt; and his niece, Gloria Sauer.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at St. Thomas Cemetery in St. Thomas.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Thomas Cemetery Association for the maintenance fund.

Mary Gwendolyn Mace, age 77, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at her home. She was born in Iberia, on October 10, 1948, daughter of the late Maurice Eugene and Eunice (McKee) Mace.

Mary devoted her entire working career to the State of Missouri and was a faithful member of Brays Advent Christian Church and the Iberia Eastern Star, where she found fellowship and lasting friendship.

She loved her family deeply, especially her nieces and nephews, whom she cherished as if they were her very own.

She is survived by her brother, Eugene (Vicki) Mace; nieces and nephews, Shannon Mace, Joey Mace and wife Pam, Amanda (Mace) DeGraffenreid husband Bryan, and Nick Mace; seven great-nieces and nephews, Marriah, Zachary, Ian, Maddox, Zoe, Jackson, and Emerson; and a host of family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Michael Mace.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Shirley Ann (Pope) Witt, age 88, of Eldon, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Rock Island Village in Eldon. She was born on April 4, 1938, daughter of the late James Pope and Ethel (Pemberton) Pope. On October 9, 1952, in Harrison, Arkansas, Shirley was united in marriage to Doral James Witt, who preceded her in death on December 27, 2016.

Shirley found great joy and purpose in caring for her family, devoting her life to raising her children and later cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, Shirley cared and babysat for many children who all called her “grandma”, loving each one as her own. She was a past member of Faith Baptist Church in Eldon.

Shirley was infamous for her cinnamon rolls, and she found great joy in crocheting and lovingly created countless keepsakes for her family, including baby blankets, doll dresses, doilies, and other treasured handmade gifts.

She is survived by her six children, Rick Witt and Donna Ping, Diana Distler and husband Paul, Dwane Witt and wife Mary, Karen Maher and husband Tim, Sharon Webb and husband Ron, and Brian Witt and wife Helen; twelve grandchildren, Michael Distler and wife Amy, Brandon Distler, Megan Robydek and husband James, Tyler Yows and husband Chris, Cody Maher and wife Kelsey, Spencer Webb and wife Cheyenne, Skylar Webb, Jesse Witt and wife Lexi, Brittany Hill and husband Adam, Suzan DuBoise, Dustin Witt, and KayLynn Zumwalt and husband Ryan; 20 great-grandchildren, Matthew and wife Christine, Jylian, Spencer, Kynlee, Wyatt, Kiya, David, Walker, Aubrey, Dalton, Macey, Paisley, Madilyn, Annabelle, Noah, Silas, Tatum, Reece, Klara and Hayden; and one great-great grandson, Brantley with one great-great-granddaughter on the way; sister, Betty; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by three infant children, Teresa, Sherry, and Steve Witt; two grandsons, Nicholas and Matthew James; and her siblings, Frances Pope, Lois Boeck, and Georgia Johnson.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with the funeral service immediately following at 12 noon, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Interment will be held in Mt. Union Cemetery in Brumley.

Jonathan “Jon” Peter Kempker, age 45, of Jefferson City, formerly of Mary’s Home, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at his home. He was born in Jefferson City on May 23, 1980, son of the late August “Gus” Kempker and Delores (Osterman) Kempker.

The youngest of 5 brothers, Jon learned early on to hold his own. He loved to laugh and make others laugh by finding humor in the smallest things. He had deep bond and love for his family and held a strong faith in Jesus. He will be remembered for his quick wit, warm spirit, and sense of humor. Jon loved caring for others, especially his sister, Paula, before her death and he was always a constant for his mother, Dee, picking her up whenever she fell.

Jon found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially playing the guitar, fishing, rock hunting along the bank of the Osage River, and cooking for family gatherings using every spice and seasoning in the cabinet. He never used a recipe just created wonderful food that was typical Jon food, good and plenty. These moments reflected the heart of who he was—a man who loved being outdoors, sharing time with those he cared about, and creating memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Delores Kempker; six siblings, Chris (Bertha) Kempker, Jim (Angie) Kempker, Nick (Karen) Kempker, Ben (Julie) Kempker, Matt (Sara) Kempker, and Katie (Wes Oligschlaeger) Kempker; brother-in-law, Wendell Tyler; honorary brother, Shawn Etter; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, August “Gus” Kempker; step-mother, Mary Kempker; sister, Paula Tyler; grandparents, August H. and Teresa Kempker and Peter and Matilda Osterman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Lisa Kay Stover, age 61, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Boone Hospital in Columbia. She was born on August 1, 1964.

Lisa had a deep love for flowers, photography, the outdoors, and especially treasured time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Nick (Monica Wilson) Stover; spouse, Travis Young; grandchildren, Kaylynn Stover, Alec Stover, Dayton Ponder, and Asher Wilson; siblings, Rodney, Jessica, Sandra, and Kim.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Flora May Wall, age 94, of Brumley, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at her home. She was born in Miller County, on July 31, 1931, daughter of the late Oscar and Miriam (Allison) Houser. On December 12, 1954, Flora was united in marriage to Gail Clay Wall, who preceded her in death on January 1, 1981.

Flora faithfully served her community in many ways over the years. She worked for several years as secretary for the Iberia Board of Education and also served as bookkeeper for Brumley Baptist Church. Even after retiring from the Department of Health, she continued working at Highland Dairy.

She found joy in working puzzles and was well known and dearly loved in her community. Flora was a devoted and active member of Brumley Baptist Church, where her steadfast faith and kind presence were a blessing to many.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie Wall; daughter, Becky (Doug) Huntting; three grandchildren, Bryan (Paige) Huntting, Sarah (Matt) Bassett, and Kristen Huntting; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Miriam Houser; husband, Clay Wall; and her sister, Erma Fay Vernon.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Interment will be held in Hawkins Cemetery near Brumley with Pastor Brandon Kissinger officiating.

Bernard “Ben” John Voss, age 87, of St. Anthony, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Arrowhead Senior Living Center in Osage Beach. He was born in St. Anthony on May 2, 1939, son of the late John and Antonette “Nettie” (Lindenbusch) Voss. On November 25, 1961, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Ben was united in marriage to Genevieve Ann Herx, who preceded him in death on September 12, 2010.

Ben honorably served in the United States Army. After working for several years at MFA in Iberia, Ben was employed by Westinghouse until his retirement. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and attending tractor pulls, and he was a dedicated member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

He is survived by three children, Cindy Ward of Jefferson City, Travis Voss of St. Anthony, and Spencer Voss of St. Anthony; four grandchildren, Sarah Lovicott of Rosebud, Texas, Renee Otto of Goodyear, Arizona, Dylan Voss of St. Anthony, and Shayli Voss of St. Anthony; four great-grandchildren, Lane Lovicott, Scarlett Lovicott, Mable Lovicott and Kai Hannah; brother, Mark Voss; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to his parents and loving wife, Genevieve Voss, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Jerome Voss, Urban Voss, Paul Voss, and Charles Voss; and sister, Mary Murray.

A rosary will be held at 9 a.m., followed by a visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at the St. Anthony Parish Hall on Thursday, May 14, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony with Fr. Christopher Aubuchon officiating. Inurnment will be held in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Masses.
