We are currently operating solely on a volunteer basis while providing forensic nursing care for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and violent crime throughout Eastern Idaho.

Meet one of our FERN nurses.

When most of us are spending time with family, sleeping, or enjoying a quiet weekend, FERN nurses remain on call—ready to respond when someone experiences sexual assault, domestic violence, strangulation, child abuse, or another violent crime.

This past weekend alone, our team responded twice.

But medical care is only part of the story.

When FERN and 16:14 Revival work together, survivors receive both immediate forensic medical care and ongoing advocacy, resources, safety planning, housing support, and recovery services. Together, we help people navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives and begin taking steps forward.

The reality is that these calls happen every week in Eastern Idaho.

The need is real.
The work is happening.
And we need your help to keep going.

FERN nurses donate countless hours responding to calls, and both organizations rely heavily on community support to continue providing services.

Most nurses never learn about forensic nursing in nursing school.

Yet every day, forensic nurses are responding to cases involving sexual assault, domestic violence, strangulation, child abuse, and other violent crimes.

These nurses provide specialized care, collect evidence, document injuries, and serve as advocates for patients during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Every time a FERN nurse responds to a sexual assault, domestic violence, strangulation, or violent crime case, specialized equipment is required to properly document injuries and collect forensic evidence.

Right now, we need 4 forensic cameras to support exams across Eastern Idaho and the rural communities we serve.

These cameras are a critical part of providing quality forensic care and ensuring accurate documentation for patients who may choose to pursue legal action.
