Drowning is quiet. No thrashing or shouting, just stillness where there shouldn't be. May is National Trauma Awareness Month, and as Idaho heads toward summer on the rivers and reservoirs, knowing what to watch for matters. If someone’s head is low in the water, their eyes look glassy or they are not moving, immediately seek help. Quick action can save lives.

May is National Trauma Awareness Month, and our emergency department is seeing more e-bike and scooter injuries than ever before. Helmet on, eyes up. If the unexpected happens, IFCH is ready 24/7. All grit, no quit.

May is Safe Kids Month!

Summer is an exciting season for families, often bringing vacations, barbecues, picnics, and time away from work and school. Yet summer is also known as “trauma season” among health professionals in the United States because unintentional injuries and deaths increase dramatically among children. Safe Kids Month is a national celebration dedicated to inspiring parents to take simple steps that help keep their kids safe as they get ready for summer.
