Sports physicals get scheduled. Dentist visits get scheduled. The eye exam is the one that quietly slides to next year, and then the year after that, usually because nothing feels wrong.

That is exactly the point of a comprehensive exam. Many of the changes we look for, from early cataract to shifts in eye pressure, start long before you would ever notice them yourself. Waiting for a symptom means waiting past the easiest time to act.

Idaho's oldest rodeo turns 115 this week. The War Bonnet Round Up returns to Sandy Downs in Idaho Falls on July 29, and this year carries some extra meaning as part of America's 250th birthday summer.

This weekend, around 2,000 athletes are swimming the Snake River through Burley for the Spudman Triathlon. A lot of them are doing it in contact lenses. Some of those contacts will not survive the swim.
