Hi all,
I wanted to briefly introduce myself & give some information about who I am & the work that I do.
First, I'm Kaci, I use she/her pronouns. I'm a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I'm currently an intern and a student. My graduation from Northwestern University is quickly approaching (hooray!).
I've had the privilege of working at The Brave Life Therapy since January 2021 and I've loved every single moment of it.
I work primarily with those of all ages within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I provide space for clients to explore gender identity, sexuality, and much more. I work with folks who are processing many forms of trauma, those who may come from dysfunctional family dynamics, or those who may be generally unsure of what's impacting their well-being.
In the therapy room I show up as human, like you. I strive to see clients holistically. I actively work to decolonize my therapy practice and am continuously learning how I am complicit in and benefit from systems of oppression. I always welcome feedback across all dimensions.
As a person outside of the therapy room I am an advocate, an activist, and an intersectional feminist. I love to laugh and find joy in life, but I also love having difficult & deep conversations with others (yes, even outside of therapy). I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, which bring me much joy and amusement. I love spending time outside. I do home DIY which is fun, but can be stressful at times. I'm an avid reader and a true introvert who recharges through solitude.
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about who I am, what I value, and how I work.
Have a great day!
