Our SLPs are making a difference, one swallow study at a time.

RHI's investment in the TIMS system is paying off for our patients. In just the first quarter of 2026, our Speech-Language Pathologists completed 51 MBSS, with 91% of patients upgraded from their admission diet and 62% discharged on their baseline diet.

Incredible work, backed by the best technology in the field.

Back in March, the RHI Racers got the full pro treatment with the Indiana Pacers. 🏀

Six athletes signed one-day contracts and spent the day like true Pacers, touring the locker room, meeting the team, and taking in pregame warmups. It’s a day they won’t soon forget (and neither will we!).

June is Aphasia Awareness Month.

More than 2 million Americans are living with aphasia, a communication disorder that can affect a person's ability to speak, understand, read, and write. Often caused by a stroke or brain injury, aphasia impacts language, but not intelligence.

This month, join us creating a more understanding and supportive community for those living with communication challenges.

Last month, we celebrated National Hospital Week!

One of the highlights? Our second annual tricycle race! Staff and patients gathered to cheer on our team as they took a break from the day-to-day for some friendly competition and a lot of laughs.

Great care comes from a team that works hard together and knows how to have fun.

This month, we recognize the individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Behind every diagnosis is a need for better support, care, and research around brain health.

“Amber Armstrong and Wendy Waldman are a dynamic duo at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana, going above and beyond in their roles as Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Indiana NeuroResource Facilitators,” shared Rebecca Runkel, RHI Research Coordinator.

Through their compassion, advocacy, and person-centered support, Amber and Wendy provide vital guidance to Hoosiers navigating life after brain injury. They take time to listen, educate, and connect individuals and families with meaningful resources, ensuring no one has to face the journey alone.

Amber and Wendy’s efforts not only strengthen our department but also make a lasting difference in the lives of countless individuals and families across Indiana. We’re proud to celebrate the incredible work they do every day.
