Life's Journey Home Hospice & Inpatient Facility

Life's Journey Home Hospice & Inpatient Facility Inpatient Facility, Home Hospice, or Palliative Care in Indianapolis, Indiana and surrounding areas Established in 2018.

Over 15 years ago, as a hospice nurse, I discovered a critical need within the hospice care landscape. It became evident that there was a gap in care options for hospice patients when their symptoms became unmanageable at home or when their caregivers required a reprieve. Although hospitals and long-term care facilities excel in their care provision, they lack the specialized training and philosop

hy inherent to hospice care. Together with my husband Bob, boasting over 45 years of healthcare operations and management experience, we embarked on a mission to fill this void. Our vision was to establish a haven specifically tailored to cater to the unique needs of hospice patients, irrespective of their hospice company. We envisioned a place where hospice patients could seek symptom management, respite care, or routine private-pay care in a serene and spacious environment while being attended to by specially trained hospice staff dedicated to upholding the hospice philosophy.

We are so thankful. ❤️

As we reflect on the journey of the past several years, our hearts are filled with gratitude.

Since opening our doors in 2018, it has been one of life’s greatest privileges to walk alongside patients and families throughout Hendricks County and the surrounding communities during some of their most sacred moments. What began as a vision to provide a different kind of hospice care—one rooted in compassion, dignity, excellence, and truly personalized support—has grown into something far greater than we ever imagined.

We are incredibly proud of the dedicated team that has made this mission possible. Every nurse, aide, social worker, chaplain, volunteer, nurse practitioner, physician, therapist, office staff member, and support team member has poured their heart into serving others with kindness, skill, and unwavering compassion. You are the heart of Life’s Journey Hospice, and your work has touched countless lives.

To our community, thank you.

Thank you to the hospitals, hospice partners, physicians, nursing facilities, assisted living communities, first responders, home health agencies, funeral homes, local businesses, churches, and our many healthcare partners who have trusted us and worked alongside us over the years. Your collaboration has allowed us to care for patients and families with dignity, respect, and love.

Most importantly, thank you to every patient and every family who invited us into your lives. It has been an honor beyond words to care for your loved ones, celebrate meaningful moments together, provide comfort during difficult days, and simply be present when it mattered most. Those memories will remain with us forever.

We are also deeply grateful to everyone who has encouraged us, supported us, prayed for us, believed in our mission, and stood beside us throughout this journey. We have been blessed by a community that truly understands the importance of caring for one another.

As Life’s Journey Hospice continues to evolve, change, and grow, one thing will never change—our commitment to the mission and vision that inspired us from the very beginning. We remain dedicated to providing compassionate, exceptional hospice care that honors every life, supports every family, and reminds people they never have to walk this journey alone.

From all of us at Life’s Journey Hospice…

Thank you for allowing us to serve. Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for believing in our mission. And thank you for being part of our story.

We will always be grateful. 💚

In hospice, we are reminded every day that no one is simply dying.

They are finishing a story.

A story written across decades through love, sacrifice, heartbreak, faith, family, failure, forgiveness, courage, and grace. They are not just a diagnosis. They are not just a patient in a bed. They are someone’s mother, father, husband, wife, child, grandparent, best friend, or greatest love.

They are a whole life.

And when we are invited into their final chapter, we are standing on sacred ground.

Hospice is not only about easing pain, calming breathlessness, or giving medications. It is about listening deeply enough to understand who this person has been and what they need as their story comes to a close.

Do they need to hear that they are forgiven?

Do they need permission to let go?

Do they need one more prayer, one more song, one more familiar voice, one more hand to hold?

Do they need silence, laughter, reconciliation, or simply the reassurance that they will not be alone?

These things matter.

How a person dies matters.

The final moments of a life can never erase the chapters that came before, but they can honor them. They can bring peace where there has been fear, dignity where there has been loss, and love where words are no longer enough.

As hospice caregivers, we are called to protect that ending.

To see beyond the illness.

To remember that this is not just a death. It is the completion of a life God Himself has known from the very beginning.

We may not be able to change the ending, but we can help make it gentle.

We can ease suffering.

We can honor wishes.

We can create space for families to say what needs to be said.

We can pray when there are no words.

We can sit quietly when presence is the greatest gift we have left to give.

What an incredible privilege it is to be trusted with someone’s final days.

What a sacred responsibility it is to help ensure that their story ends, as much as possible, in the way they hoped it would — surrounded by dignity, comfort, love, and peace.

Because every life has meaning.

Every story deserves to be heard.

Every ending deserves tenderness.

And when the final page is turned, may that person know they were seen, they were valued, they were deeply loved, and they were never alone.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants.”
Psalm 116:15

It’s been an honor to serve people with such beautiful stories. I pray the Life’s Journey Hospice, and our hospice partners’ missions alike, continue to serve in such a manner for decades to come!~Laury Wallace

What an incredible afternoon of fun, laughter, and community connection!

Life’s Journey Hospice was honored to host one of our largest community bingo events yet at Charter Senior Living of Hobbs Station. We were thrilled to welcome participants from the Hendricks County Senior Center and the Avon YMCA SilverSneakers program as well.

A heartfelt thank you to these wonderful organizations for partnering with us and allowing us the opportunity to bring people together for an afternoon filled with smiles, fellowship, and friendly competition. Events like these remind us that building connections and creating moments of joy are just as important as the care we provide every day.

At Life’s Journey Hospice, we believe in serving not only our patients and families, but also the communities we call home. We are grateful for the opportunity to support, engage with, and celebrate the amazing people who make our communities so special.

Thank you to everyone who attended—we are already looking forward to the next one!

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave everything for the freedoms we hold so dearly. On this Memorial Day, we remember the heroes who never made it home — the fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and friends whose courage and sacrifice shaped our nation.

At Life’s Journey Hospice, we are especially humbled to care for many veterans whose stories carry the weight of service, sacrifice, resilience, and love of country.

Today is not just about remembrance. It is about gratitude.
Gratitude for every folded flag.
Every empty chair.
Every sacrifice unseen.
And every veteran who still carries memories that words could never fully express.

May we never forget that freedom has always come at a cost.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

This Memorial Day, may we honor the fallen by living with kindness, compassion, and gratitude for the precious gift of each new day. 🇺🇸

Today our amazing navigator Terri spent time out in the community at Harmony of Avon sharing treats during happy hour, laughter, conversation, and meaningful moments with residents and staff. 💜

It was such a beautiful reminder that at Life’s Journey of Avon, hospice is about so much more than end of life care. It’s about showing up. It’s about partnership, compassion, connection, and making a difference in the lives around us every single day. It’s about living!

Hospice is about being present in the moments that matter most — sharing smiles, listening to stories, offering comfort, creating joy, and reminding people they are seen, valued, and loved. Sometimes the smallest gestures become the biggest blessings.

We are so grateful for team members like Terri who carry the heart of hospice and genuine compassion into our community with kindness, warmth, and genuine care. These moments of togetherness are what life is truly about. 💫

Because caring for others means not only walking beside them during difficult seasons, but also celebrating life, cherishing each moment, and bringing light wherever we can. 💜

Terri from Life’s Journey Hospice brought smiles and delicious treats to our Happy Hour gathering! Residents enjoyed two tasty dips paired with crackers and chips, along with sweet cupcakes and refreshing drinks while sharing laughter and good conversation. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with warmth, fellowship, and thoughtful hospitality that made everyone feel extra special.

Our hearts are full of gratitude for the incredible volunteers from Friends of Brownsburg Scouting — especially Troops 396 and 3960 — who spent their Saturday serving our Life’s Journey Hospice patients and families with such kindness and dedication.

These amazing scouts, leaders, and volunteers arrived early this morning ready to work, and work hard they did. From patient patios to our front entrance and circle drive, they poured their time, energy, and heart into helping us create cleaner, brighter, more peaceful outdoor spaces for those we serve.

Acts of service like this remind us that compassion is alive and thriving in our community. Something as simple as cleaning a patio can mean so much to a patient and family seeking comfort, fresh air, peace, and dignity during difficult moments.

We are beyond thankful for every helping hand today and for the example these young people are setting through service, teamwork, and generosity. Your hard work did not go unnoticed, and your kindness made a real difference. 🌿

Thank you again to Friends of Brownsburg Scouting, Troops 396 and 3960, and all of the wonderful volunteers who gave their Saturday to bless others. We appreciate you more than words can say.

This Mother’s Day, we hold space for every kind of heart. 🌸

For many, Mother’s Day is filled with celebration, laughter, hugs, flowers, and cherished traditions. But for others, this day can also carry deep grief, quiet tears, longing, and memories that ache in beautiful and tender ways.

At Life’s Journey Hospice, we honor every story and every emotion this day may bring.

For those missing their mom today, we hold space for your memories and the love that continues to live on forever.

For those walking beside their mother through what may be her final Mother’s Day, we hope you hold tightly to every moment, every embrace, every whispered “I love you,” and every quiet second spent together. Sometimes the smallest moments become the most treasured memories we carry for a lifetime.

From the very beginning of life, mothers become protectors, nurturers, teachers, comforters, and safe places for their children. A mother’s love continues to shape hearts long after childhood and even long after loss. It is one of the most beautiful and powerful forms of love woven throughout creation itself.

And just as human mothers nurture their children, nature beautifully reflects this same tenderness. Birds guard and feed their babies, deer gently guide their young through the fields, and countless creatures fiercely protect the lives entrusted to them. Love, nurturing, and devotion are gifts seen throughout all of life. 🌿

There is no right or wrong way to feel today. Grief, gratitude, love, hope, joy, and heartbreak can all exist within the same heart.

To every mother, grandmother, bonus mom, foster mom, grieving mother, caregiver, and mother figure — we see you, we honor you, and we celebrate the love you continue to pour into others.

You are not alone. 🤍

This week, we pause to honor the hearts behind the hands of care. Happy Nurses Week to the extraordinary nurses of Life’s Journey Hospice and to nurses everywhere whose compassion changes lives in ways words can never fully capture.

Nursing is far more than a profession. It is a calling rooted in humanity, sacrifice, strength, and love. It is showing up in the quiet hours of the night when families are exhausted and afraid. It is holding a trembling hand, easing pain, offering reassurance, and bringing dignity and peace during life’s most vulnerable moments.

Our nurses do not simply care for patients — they care for souls. They listen deeply. They advocate fiercely. They notice the unspoken fears, the silent grief, the small victories, and the moments that matter most. They bring comfort not only through clinical skill and knowledge, but through tenderness, empathy, patience, and grace.

Every day, our team demonstrates extraordinary dedication through acts both big and small:
• Sitting beside a patient so they are never alone
• Comforting families through heartbreak and uncertainty
• Managing symptoms with skill and precision while preserving dignity
• Offering gentle words when hope feels distant
• Celebrating meaningful moments and memories with those we serve
• Extending kindness long after their shift should have ended

Hospice nursing requires a rare kind of strength — the ability to stand in the presence of grief while still bringing light, peace, and compassion into every room entered. It takes deeply empathetic individuals who are willing to walk beside patients and families during one of life’s most sacred journeys.

To our incredible nurses at Life’s Journey: your service matters more than you know. Your compassion leaves lasting imprints on the hearts of families. Your presence brings peace. Your dedication inspires us daily. We see the sacrifices you make, the emotional weight you carry, and the love you pour into every patient entrusted to your care.

Thank you for being healers, advocates, listeners, protectors, and compassionate guides. Thank you for the comfort you provide and the dignity you preserve. Thank you for leading with both excellence and heart.

This Nurses Week, we celebrate YOU — the extraordinary individuals whose kindness and dedication make a profound difference every single day. 💙💚🧡💛🩵
