I lost my soulmate, Jasmine, last week after she had surgery on her hoof. While it has been a rough transition for me, she has been loving the newfound freedom of her ethereal body. She’s been sending me messages about all of her favorite memories with me.
We used to run along a field of sunflowers at the barn where we boarded near Riley. We would zoom up and down the boundaries of the field. Then I would get off, loosen her saddle, and let her graze near the flowers. All winter long, she would tell me that she couldn’t wait for sunflower time again. So, naturally, I got her a sunflower winter blanket—which she loved.
The first day after her transition, everywhere I looked, there were sunflowers—including a paper one that someone had left on my seat at the doctor’s office exam room.
On the second day, I was doing laundry when I heard her voice through the mediumship link say, “Now I can really go everywhere with you, Mom!”
She then showed me how I would leave her at liberty in my mom’s yard, and she would stand right beside me as I hung laundry on the line. She also showed me how we would take a nap beneath the shade tree, with the laundry floating in the breeze. She would stand above me while I leaned against her leg, my head back and my mouth open, sawing logs,
Yesterday, I was driving home when I felt her again. This time, she said, “Look, Mom! I’m the rainbow!”
Then she reminded me of how we would go for a ride right after the Indiana summer storms to take advantage of the drop in humidity. On so many of those rides, we would see a rainbow, and I would tell her, “Come on, Jasmine! Let’s chase that rainbow!”
That rainbow led me home for 16 miles last night—one mile for every year I had with her.
I’m so thankful for this gift, and I’m thankful that y’all allow me to share it with you.
I am still doing sessions. Helping others helps me. I’ll get back to making reels after my eyes aren’t quite so red.
