Even in life’s darkest moments, hope can light the way forward.
Jacob’s story of strength, perseverance and recovery was a highlight at this year’s Circle of Hope event. After six months of living in his house without power and water, his family held an intervention that led to a 95-day stay at Community Fairbanks Recovery Center.
“Addiction takes everything away from you. It takes away your relationships, family, your self-respect, and it isolates you. It puts you in a hole – a dark one,” Jacob said.
“What recovery has given to me, and what Community Fairbanks has provided me, is connection. It’s community, just like Community Fairbanks, the name. I found my people. That’s what keeps on bringing me back.”
