Parents—this is an important one to talk about at home.

You may have seen the “Benadryl Challenge” circulating online, but this is far from harmless. It’s been linked to the deaths of three children in Connecticut and health experts are urging families to take it seriously.

Dr. Jeremy Gagan, Community Health Network emergency medicine physician, recently shared on WTHR-TV just how dangerous this trend can be. Taking high doses of Benadryl can cause severe drowsiness, confusion, dangerous heart rhythm issues and even life-threatening complications.

If you have kids or teens on social media, now is a good time to start the conversation about medication safety and the real risks behind viral challenges. What may seem like a joke online can have very real consequences.

Caregivers working at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital and Community Hospital North received a sweet surprise over Father’s Day weekend thanks to Castleton United Methodist Church. The congregation donated “Popcorn for Pops” treats to recognize dads, grandfathers and all caregivers serving our patients and families.
