Rowdieโ€™s connection to Damar keeps growing, and we couldnโ€™t love it more!

What began with our Connection Beyond Words campaign sparked a passion for getting to know the children and adults we serve. Rowdie has been making time to be part of life at Damar, showing up for the fun and building friendships along the way.

Last week, he joined Damar Party Clubโ€™s Halloween Party, helping pass out candy as our adults enjoyed trick-or-treating. Todayโ€™s beautiful weather brought another chance to connect, this time with a Wiffle Ball game alongside the kids on our main campus!

Fall brings plenty to look forward to. The flu isnโ€™t one of them. As flu season begins, here are three things to know about your annual flu vaccine:

๐–๐ก๐ฒ ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐ž๐š๐ซ? Flu viruses change, and protection from vaccination decreases over time. An annual vaccine helps protect against the flu and can make illness less severe if you do get sick.

๐–๐ก๐จ ๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ ๐ ๐ž๐ญ ๐ข๐ญ? The CDC recommends a flu vaccine for everyone 6 months and older, with rare exceptions.

๐–๐ก๐ž๐ง ๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ ๐ž๐ญ ๐ข๐ญ? Ideally by the end of October to ensure protection before peak illness periods begin. Protection takes about two weeks to develop, so now is a good time to plan ahead.

During Spirit Week, Macy picked out matching โ€œBROโ€ shirts for her son and his therapist, Peyton, for Twin Day. For Macy, that moment reflected a bond that brings her family comfort every day.

Getting to that moment meant finding a team her family could trust. After touring several ABA centers and feeling discouraged, Macyโ€™s family walked into Damarโ€™s Fall Creek clinic in Indianapolis.
