The reason why many people finally see results “eating more” is not because they are actually eating more calories. They actually just started to fuel their body appropriately from start of day and it stopped those evening or weekend crash outs.
It feels like they are “eating more” to them because they aren’t used to eating actual meals. But when you track the calories of both methods you will realize you end up eating way more at some point (every evening/weekends) to make up for your lack of food consumption. Those good choices tend to be high calorie quick easy food. Lots of snacks.
If you were actually in a CONSISTENT calorie deficit with your prior methods you WOULD be losing fat. So if you aren’t, that is why. I will forever promote eating filling meals from start of day and avoiding letting your body get to place where it can’t even withstand waiting for a healthy decent meal prep. This is why we also recommend always having easy food prep so you have the options!! The goal is to avoid raiding the pantry!
Hopefully this makes sense. Obviously there is some nuance here where some people truly under eat and have some major adaptations and need to truly reverse diet. But the majority of people who are overweight aren’t stuck there because they don’t eat enough. Track what put in mouth and you realize real quick how calories add up.
