Frank King Owens, 82, was born on January 28, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Richard H. Owens and Hazel W. (King) Owens. He was the youngest of three children.

From the very beginning, his life was a testament to God’s grace. At birth, doctors gave him only a slim chance of survival, but through the strength of his family, the care of his doctors, and the faith of his church community, he overcame the odds and went on to live a life that inspired everyone around him.

A lifelong and devoted member of Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly, he faithfully attended Sunday School and served for decades. Baptized in Jesus’ Name, he remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life. He was also employed by the church as a janitor for several years and volunteered in many capacities.

Known for his humble spirit, strong faith, and kind heart, Frank found joy in the presence of family, friends, and all who met him, especially during the holidays. He had a remarkable memory and took a genuine interest in sports throughout his life, playing baseball and basketball for many years. Even after he could no longer play, he remained a devoted fan of the Indianapolis Indians, Indiana Pacers, and Indianapolis Colts. He also loved bowling and was known to be quite skilled.

He attended Noble of Indianapolis from childhood through his seventies, where he enjoyed learning, music, painting, coloring, athletics, and time with friends. During his final weeks there, he restored a park bench that now sits at the front entrance, dedicated in his honor.

In his later years, he resided at Harbour Manor in Noblesville, Indiana, where he brought joy to those around him. He enjoyed coloring, playing bingo, creating arts and crafts, and connecting with residents, staff, and their families.

Frank went to sleep in Jesus on April 23, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard H. Owens and Hazel W. (King) Owens; his sister, Harryette T. (Owens) Bland; and his brother, Dr. Richard E. Owens Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, sister-in-law, Dorothy Jeanette Owens; her children, Richard E. Owens II (Julia), Karmen J. Franklin (Fredrick), Rennard E. Owens, and Ryan E. Owens (Carolyn); along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will carry on his legacy of faith and love.

Celebration of life services will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 5:00pm at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly, 430 W. Fall Creek Parkway, with visitation there from 4:00-5:00pm. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 12:00pm.
