Dr. Cody Senkyr Check out what The Wellness Way Clinics are doing all over the country at www.thewellnessway.com I am so saddened by the state of health in people today.

Almost every single disease is at an all time high. Heart disease, cancer, digestive issues, thyroid problems, autoimmune, autism and the list goes on and on! Because of this, I have trained with some of the best Doctors and Healers on the planet. I have learned that there is an underlying theme with all of these issues, Inflammation! Pretty much every Doctor knows that inflammation is the underlying cause they have just been dealing with the end result and not the triggers. Through my training I have found some of the best tests to run to be able to find out what is triggering the inflammation and causing your problem. My new mantra is that "We don't Guess, We Test!" We have to properly test you so we can see what is triggering your inflammation. In doing so this has allowed me to help people with the most common, to the most complex of health issues!

Some people swear their knees can predict a storm more accurately than the weather app.

And after hearing this from patients for years, I can tell you there may be more behind that feeling than people assume.

It isn’t only knees either – people notice it in their hips, back, and other joints when the weather starts changing.

The interesting part is what you can do when you know one of those achy days is coming.

A few of my online clients have become much more aware of how differently their bodies feel from one day to the next once they start paying attention to these patterns.

There’s always someone in the family who announces the rain before anybody has even looked outside.

If your hips or back feel stiff when you stand up from the toilet – or your feet have actually gone numb – your five-minute bathroom break may have quietly become twenty.

This comes up more often than you’d expect with people I work with, including online clients who spend plenty of time sitting throughout the rest of their day too.

The toilet was designed for a very specific purpose. It wasn’t designed to become your favorite scrolling chair.

And there’s one extremely simple experiment you can try that usually cuts the sitting time dramatically.

Your Screen Time report probably knows more about your bathroom routine than you’d like to admit.

If you leave a massage feeling like you’ve just survived a wrestling match, more pressure may not have meant a better result.

I see this with patients and online clients who assume that if a massage doesn’t hurt, it somehow isn’t “working”.

But when an area is already irritated, attacking it with even more pressure can sometimes leave you feeling worse afterward.

There’s a big difference between productive pressure and your body simply trying to survive what’s happening to it.

And soreness for the next three days definitely isn’t the trophy people think it is.

If you wear a posture corrector for hours hoping it will permanently fix your posture, there’s one problem worth thinking about.

Most posture braces physically pull your shoulders backward for you.

That can provide a reminder of where you want your shoulders to sit, but your own muscles still need to learn how to control and support that position.

Relying on external support for hours doesn’t necessarily address the strength, mobility, or movement patterns that caused your posture to change in the first place.

A better long-term approach is understanding which areas need more mobility, which need more strength, and teaching your body to hold a comfortable position on its own.

A posture brace sitting unused in the back of a closet is probably more common than the packaging would have you believe.

If your pain is always on one side, your body may be giving you an important clue.

Maybe it’s always your left hip, your right shoulder, one side of your low back, or headaches that keep showing up on the same side.

That pattern usually means your body is compensating for something, and it has been going on long enough for pain to become the warning signal.

The mistake many people make is only focusing on getting the pain to calm down, without asking why that same side keeps speaking up.

When the same area keeps bothering you, it’s worth looking deeper at your posture, movement patterns, and the imbalances your body may be trying to manage.

09/25/2026

Look at a normal photo of yourself – does one shoulder consistently sit higher than the other?

Small differences between sides are common, but a noticeable imbalance can reveal how your body has learned to compensate over time.

Your dominant shoulder may naturally sit slightly differently because of how often you use that arm.

But when the difference becomes obvious, muscles around the neck, shoulders, upper back, and even pelvis may be contributing to the position.

The interesting part is that simply forcing the higher shoulder downward doesn’t necessarily address why your body keeps returning there.

Once people notice their uneven shoulders in one photo, they usually start seeing the same pattern in every picture.

If you always carry your groceries on the same side, your body could be adapting to that imbalance.

It might only take a minute or two to get from the car to the house, but repeated habits still matter.

When one side is loaded more than the other, your body has to compensate to keep you balanced.

Over time, that can create tension through the shoulders, hips, back, and even the way you move.

Splitting the weight between both hands or making an extra trip can help reduce that uneven strain.

Your back starts hurting – do you reach for the ice pack or the heating pad?

People tend to have surprisingly strong opinions about this, but the answer can depend on what happened and how your body responds.

Cold may feel more comfortable after a fresh irritation, while heat can often feel better when the area is stiff, tight, or achy.

Some people even find that alternating the two provides more relief than relying on either one alone.

The important thing is paying attention to how your symptoms respond rather than assuming one option works best for everybody.

Every household seems to have one person who puts ice on everything and another who reaches for the heating pad every single time.

If your neck gets tight after reading, your position could be putting more strain on your body than you realize.

Most people read with the book, tablet, or phone below eye level, which keeps the head tilted down for long periods.

That forward position can build tension through the neck, shoulders, and upper back, especially if you’re reading in bed, on the couch, or at a desk.

Reading is a great habit, but the position you hold while doing it still matters.

Try bringing your book or screen closer to eye level, supporting your arms, or changing positions before your neck starts tightening up.

If you eat, work, or scroll at your coffee table, your spine could be dealing with more stress than you realize.

A coffee table usually puts everything too low, which means your head, neck, shoulders, and back have to round forward to reach it.

Over time, that position can build tension through your neck, mid-back, and lower back.

This is especially common if you’re working from a laptop, answering emails from your phone, or eating while leaning forward from the couch.

Your setup matters, even outside your office. If you’re going to work or scroll for more than a few minutes, try to bring your screen closer to eye level and keep your body better supported.

👇 Do you usually work at a proper desk, or do you end up using your coffee table?
