You have tried the oils, the supplements, and the treatments your doctor recommended. Some worked for a while. Most did not. And every morning you check the mirror, wondering if today is the day it spreads again.

That uncertainty is exhausting. And it is exactly what drives the research we do at Indiana University.

Our Alopecia Areata clinical trial is now open in Indianapolis. No cost to participate, and you might be compensated for your time and travel. We are waiting to hear from you.

Melanoma is one of the most serious skin cancers, but when caught early, it's also one of the most treatable. The ABCDE method takes less than 2 minutes and could make all the difference.

Do a full check once a month. Know your normal. Notice what changes.
And if something feels off? Trust your gut and get it looked at.

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune condition in which the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues, affecting the skin, joints, kidneys, and other organs. It most commonly occurs as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Globally, lupus affects an estimated 5 million people, with a significantly higher prevalence in women, especially those of reproductive age (15–45 years). It is also more common and often more severe in individuals of African, Asian, and Hispanic descent, highlighting important genetic and environmental influences on the disease. To learn more about lupus and how it is diagnosed, read the blog linked below.

Hair loss isn’t always just about hair. Alopecia areata is our body sending signals from within, often linked to immunity, genetics, and triggers we don’t always see.

The more we understand the “why,” the better we can respond with care, not confusion.

Back in 1747, James Lind changed medicine forever when he asked a simple question and invited twelve sailors to help find the answer. While science has evolved over the last 280 years, the heart of what we do at IU remains unchanged.

We see every clinical trial as a world of care, curiosity, and collaboration working together toward something greater. Inside that world are researchers asking better questions, clinical teams protecting every step, and participants whose trust gives science its purpose.

Today, we celebrate the people who make that world possible. It is your courage and commitment that turn scientific possibility into real human progress. We are proud to be part of this journey with you.
