🩺 Sending everyone a reminder this PMOS Awareness Month: PCOS has a new name — PMOS (polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome). Nothing about diagnosis or treatment changes, but the name now reflects what's really going on: multiple hormone systems and a metabolic component, not just "cysts" on the ovaries (which, fun fact, were never true cysts to begin with).

💜 Understanding IVF: Why Egg Count Isn't the Whole Story

Retrieved 20 eggs but only ended up with 3-4 genetically normal embryos? You're not alone — and it doesn't mean anything went wrong.

In this video, Dr. Christine Hur breaks down the concept of attrition in IVF — the natural narrowing that happens at each step, from eggs retrieved, to eggs mature, to eggs fertilized, to embryos that reach the blastocyst stage, to embryos that test genetically normal. It's a normal (and expected!) part of the process, even with a "healthy" starting number.

Curious about ovarian reserve testing? 🩺

In this video, Dr. Christine Hur explains the two main tests used to assess ovarian reserve: AFC (Antral Follicle Count) and AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone).

It's important to know: these tests aren't an exact predictor of IVF success, and they don't tell us anything about egg quality. What they do help us do is tailor and individualize your treatment protocol — giving you the best possible chance for success based on your unique fertility profile.
