This has been heavy on my mind and heart lately…
Not because I have answers about the Lindsay Clancy case… I don’t, and I don’t want to pretend I do, especially while the trial is ongoing.
But because the larger conversation about perinatal mental health is one I care deeply about.
As a doula, a mother, a friend, and someone with my own history of perinatal mental health struggles, I know how scary it can be to realize you aren’t okay. I also know how hard it can be to ask for help.
And sometimes, even when someone asks for help, one person, one provider, or one referral isn’t enough.
Parents deserve care that is connected, collaborative, and compassionate.
And the professionals caring for them deserve systems that make that kind of care possible.
One family. One team. No gaps.
If you’re in the perinatal season and struggling, please tell someone. You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable.
