For many years, the Cornea Classic Golf Outing has brought together an incredible community who share a common goal—advancing vision research and patient care through the Cornea Research Foundation of America (CRFA).

Thanks to your past generosity and participation, the outing has helped fund projects that have revolutionized transplant care. After thoughtful discussion, CRFA has decided to pause the Cornea Classic for 2026 as we evaluate future fundraising strategies and growth opportunities amid growing event fees.

While we will miss gathering with all of you this year, we remain deeply grateful for your past support and invite you to be a part of something else this year.

Although the outing is taking a hiatus, CRFA’s mission continues to move forward, including:
• Research into new treatments and technologies for corneal disease and glaucoma
• New grant program—supporting emerging concepts in corneal research
• Professional education for optometrists and surgeons
• Planning for a new website that supports integrated communications

In place of participating in this year’s outing, will you support these ongoing efforts? There are several ways to help including:
Make an unrestricted gift via check, credit card, or distribution (any amount)
Sponsor the new Cornea.org website project ($250 or more)
Sponsoring the Cornea Research Grant Program ($2,500 or more)
Please call 317-814-2993 or email [email protected] with any questions or to make a gift by phone. We are excited about the future ahead for CRFA and the patients we serve.

On behalf of the CRFA staff and Board of Directors, thank you again for your continued encouragement, partnership, and belief in our mission so that all who look may see.®

If you have had a DMEK transplant:

Long-term use of fluorometholone 0.1% (FML) after DMEK results in low rates of steroid induced ocular hypertension, de novo glaucoma, and immunologic rejection in patients without prior glaucoma.

Long-term use of fluorometholone 0.1% after DMEK results in low rates of steroid induced ocular hypertension, de novo glaucoma, and immunologic rejection in patients without prior glaucoma.

Thanks to generous support, we are pleased to announce that applications are now open for our 2026 Cornea Research Grant Program with a deadline of August 15th.

We would greatly appreciate your assistance in sharing this opportunity with investigators, trainees, faculty members, and research teams. If your affiliations maintain funding announcements, research opportunity boards, newsletters, or social media channels, we would be grateful for assistance in helping spread the word.

As part of our effort to support the broader research community, we are also developing a grant opportunities resource page on our website, Cornea.org. Please send opportunities our way and we would be happy to include them as a resource for fellow investigators.
