Jaylan T. Fowler was born on December 9, 1996, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was raised on the Far East Side of Indianapolis and was the oldest child and oldest grandchild in his family—a role he carried with a unique presence that could never be replaced.
Jaylan was baptized at Greater St. Mark Baptist Church and later graduated from Lawrence North High School. In his earlier years, Jaylan played football. While in high school, he began working his first job at Pizza Hut. From there, Jaylan went on to work various jobs throughout his life, always finding his own way and working toward the things he wanted.
Jaylan had a passion for the finer things in life. He loved money, cars, clothes, guns, and collectibles, and he took pride in the things that interested him. He was also a gamer and enjoyed watching random historical documentaries. He also had a special love for animals.
Those who knew Jaylan knew there were certain things that simply made him Jaylan. That little silly smirk he’d do or whenever he became really excited to tell you something, he would sometimes begin to stutter as he tried to get the story out. When he was focused, he would stick his tongue out to the side of his mouth—a small gesture his loved ones will always remember. He would also randomly clap his hands and make beats, creating his own little rhythms—something that could drive us crazy at times, but is now a memory we would give anything to hear again. Those little moments are memories that his loved ones will forever carry with them.
Above all, Jaylan loved his family. As the oldest child and grandchild, he shared a special bond with those around him and leaves behind countless memories that will continue to live on through the people who loved him.
Jaylan T. Fowler departed this life on August 11, 2026, at the age of 29.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Vaughn and Moses Wright; his great-grandmother, Delores Crenshaw; his cousin, Shayla Crenshaw; and his best friend, DaMonte’ Parker.
Jaylan leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Tara Fowler, and his father, Lorenzo Wright; his sisters, Aujinah Wright and Aniah Wright; his little brother, King Wright; his grandmothers, Jeanette Wright and Shirley Vaughn; Grandfather Gregory Cawthon and his aunts, Drewcilla Vaughn, Shante Harris, and Jazmine Harris, Victoria Cawthon, Brittany Cawthon And his Uncles , Tyrone Wright and Marlon Cawthon along with a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Though his life was far too short, Jaylan left an unforgettable mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His memory will live on through his family, his friends, and all of the moments that made him who he was.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever our Jaylan.
