Some days make you stop and think, “Wow… that really worked out.” 🤍
Wednesday was one of those days.
One of my clients went in for an induction the night before my husband left town. My older girls had birthday party plans, and suddenly I had no childcare for Emmy.
Instead of canceling everything, I texted a former client who has become a dear friend. Emmy practically grew up alongside her family during postpartum visits, so when I asked if she’d want to spend the afternoon together, she didn’t hesitate.
I visited my laboring client for a while, picked Emmy up from school, and met up with my friend and our kids. We grabbed coffee, let the kids play, laughed, and soaked up a little normalcy before I headed back to the hospital.
That evening, I had the privilege of witnessing my amazing client welcome her beautiful baby into the world. Then I came home to a perfect night swim with friends and kids.
Stressful? Absolutely.
Magical? Also yes.
It reminded me that sometimes the village isn’t something you find…it’s something you build, one relationship at a time. 🤍
