Maternal mortality ratio in Madhya Pradesh is 163 per 100,000 and MP ranks third from the bottom in the country. In order to reduce maternal mortality and neonatal mortality, GoMP and Jhpiego are implementing ASMAN.
ASMAN: An initiative of Government of Madhya Pradesh and Jhpiego
• ASMAN application is a tablet based ‘Intrapartum and Immediate Postpartum Monitoring and Decision Support Tool’.
• ASMAN is being implemented in 4 districts of Madhya Pradesh -Khargone, Ratlam, Vidisha and Jabalpur in 42 facilities.
• Tablets are placed in labor room and the staff makes digital entries including admission notes, delivery notes, post-delivery monitoring, post-natal care, discharge slip, referral slip, safe childbirth checklists from admission till discharge.
• e-partogram is generated automatically once the data of progress of labor is entered
• Clinical rules have been integrated in the application which help in decision making.
• System generated dashboards and reports can be accessed by Gynecologist, facility incharge with details like how many women admitted in a labour room, how many are high risk, what’s the delivery outcome for respective health facility and aggregations at district and state for managers.
• E- learning content: All the Government of India modules, guidelines and tutorials are available in form of audio, video, or readable content.
• Scenario based games on complication management for developing critical thinking skills of health workers around safe child delivery.
