When you want to protect your family and yourself from the flu, flu shot timing is everything. If you get your 2026 flu vaccine before flu season starts, it could wear off before the season is over. However, if you wait too long, the protection can arrive too late, right when the virus is at its worst.

Check out our latest blog “Ingrown toenail: Home treatment and when to get it removed."

If one corner of your big toe has started to throb every time you put on a shoe, an ingrown toenail is the likely cause. It happens when the edge of the nail grows down into the skin instead of over it, and while many cases respond well to home care, some need more than that to heal properly.

Ingrown toenails can be painful and lead to infection. Learn about home treatments and when to come visit Emerald Coast Urgent Care for professional removal.

Check out our latest blog "Hot Tub Folliculitis: Why You Broke Out in a Rash After the Hot Tub."

Hot tub folliculitis is a bacterial skin rash caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a germ that thrives in warm, poorly maintained hot tub water. It comes with a frustrating built-in delay: the skin looks fine right after you get out of the water. No redness, no bumps, nothing at all. A day goes by, maybe two, and then red bumps start to pop up across the torso, the buttocks or the upper arms. At that point, the hot tub is about the last place most of us think to blame. That gap (sometimes a full 48 hours) is what makes it so hard to connect the rash back to where it all started.

Broke out in a rash a day or two after the hot tub? Learn what causes hot tub folliculitis, how long it lasts and when to see Emerald Coast Urgent Care today.

Check out our latest blog "Summer BBQ gone wrong? How to know if you have food poisoning."

Food left out in the Florida heat doesn’t stay safe for long. In this heat, bacteria reproduce quickly. A cookout left exposed too long can lead to serious health issues by evening. Food poisoning is a valid concern if you’re feeling stomach distress a few hours after eating.

Emerald Coast Urgent Care treats food poisoning in Destin, Panama City Beach and Inlet Beach. Walk in any day of the week if your symptoms aren't improving.

Check out our latest blog "Does urgent care do earwax removal?"

A cotton swab is most people’s first instinct when an ear feels blocked, but it often just pushes the wax in deeper. If you’ve been trying out home remedies and still feel like you’re hearing everything through a wall, urgent care is a more reliable place to start.

You don't need a referral or an appointment to get earwax dealt with. Walk into Emerald Coast Urgent Care in Destin, Panama City Beach or Inlet Beach any day.

It doesn’t take much force to injure a toe. When the joint bends farther than it should or absorbs a hard impact, swelling can develop and persist well after the initial injury. If the area feels unusually sore or stiff, the injury may be more than a minor bruise.

Emerald Coast Urgent Care offers walk-in evaluations for toe injuries at our Destin, Panama City Beach and Inlet Beach locations. With on-site X-ray imaging available, we can assess if the joint has been strained or if a minor fracture is involved.

Toe pain after a hard impact can signal more than just a bruise. Discover when swelling or limited movement means it’s time to visit Emerald Coast Urgent Care.
