2026 Crow Lake Classic Champs! 🏆 lots of time spent looking at stubborn fish, caught no big fish on our primary spots but Rene Boileau and I managed to stay consistent and take the title and big fish both days! Our cabin/derby partners (Ed Stromness, Glen Bodnar) caught a pile and enjoyed their big tourny debut 👏

Staying at Hansons Hideaway Lodge was the best, and the real cherry on top for this derby!

Day 2 of the IFalls Bass Championship we faced tougher fishing, but managed to climb from 28th to our finishing spot at 16th with a 17lb bag. Our only goal was to stay above the cut line to fish again in 2027. Mission Accomplished! 🤟

Day 1 of has us spinning. The bite has been off for us all week, and when you're chasing bigs, you generally get 5-8 good opportunities, unless you're on something magical but we aren't wizards.......We had the 5 big bites we needed today but didn't fish clean and only landed 3/5. Rainy Lake Bass can be stubborn as a mule at times. We were surprised to bring 14.98 which has us in 28th - need 5 fish to stay above the cut and fish again next year!

What a ride!

Going out day 3 of the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship (FFCBC) we had 1 goal - to make the top 20 and keep a starting spot for next year, which we haven't been able to accomplish in the last dozen years of this event. The bite was incredibly tough, sitting on smart fish that just refused to make a mistake. Through the day we kept visiting spots, and even scramble fished some areas we haven't ever touched. We caught maybe 10 fish that we could weigh in, 6 of which, were the 3+ size we were looking for. After it all, we landed in 19th place and secured our spot in flight 1 for 2027. Not an easy feat with the caliber of anglers that flood Rainy Lake for this tournament each year. Congrats to all the anglers and thanks to all the sponsors and volunteers that make this event possible - see you in 2027 ! 🤟

Day 2 of the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship (FFCBC) and fishing was slow, and we didn't fish clean so we'll never know what could have been! That said we scraped together a good bag and get to leave the same flight as the big 🐕's ....have to wake up earlier too, unfortunately 😜

Day 1 of the FFBC we struggled to get bites, caught most game fish Rainy Lake has! 16.5lbs was a nice surprise on the scale since we caught so few fish we never bothered to weigh them - might make a shift tomorrow....we shall seeeeeee!
