September is Su***de Prevention & Awareness Month, and as the month comes to a close, we’re wearing purple and teal to help keep the conversation going.

💜 Purple represents su***de prevention and awareness.

🩵 Teal represents mental health awareness.

Together, these colors are a reminder that mental health matters, awareness matters, and reaching out matters.

Tomorrow, we’re encouraging our staff and community to wear purple, teal or both to help raise awareness, reduce stigma and show support for those who may be struggling.

Let’s keep looking out for one another, not just in September, but all year long.

Today, Rainy Lake Medical Center celebrated Margaret Hyatt as our September YETII winner!

The Icebox Initiative helps elevate the culture here at RLMC. The Initiative is driven by the values: Integrity, Respect, Compassion and Excellence Through Teamwork. Each month, employees are nominated by their peers to be the YETII (You Exemplify The Icebox Initiative) Winner.

Margaret's nomination highlighted consistently places the needs of her team and RLMC ahead of her own. No matter the task, challenge, event or opportunity, she approaches everything she does with a positive attitude, a welcoming smile and a genuine desire to help others.

As we look toward the final months of 2026, we’re reminded just how much Rainy Lake Medical Center means to this community, and it’s about so much more than healthcare.

It’s the people. Our staff are parents, grandparents, friends, coaches, business owners, caregivers, neighbors…and so much more. They care for this community inside RLMC and out.

Our rural healthcare hub is vital to this community in so many ways, and we’re proud to be part of it.
