Yoga can be so much more than a class you attend once a week.

For me, yoga has always been a practice of exploration.

Movement.

Breath.

Stillness.

Mindfulness.

Philosophy.

Self-reflection.

And the ongoing question:

How can I live a little more intentionally?

That's part of why I created the Restore & Flow Membership.

Yes, there are recorded yoga practices you can return to whenever your schedule allows.

But there's also an opportunity to explore the deeper teachings behind the practice.

One of the areas I'm especially passionate about is the Yoga Sutras—ancient teachings that continue to offer surprisingly relevant insights into modern life.

Inside the membership, we explore these ideas in a way that isn't about memorizing Sanskrit or becoming a yoga scholar.

It's about asking:

How does this apply to me?

How might this teaching change the way I approach stress?

My relationships?

My work?

My expectations of myself?

My ability to rest?

My relationship with my own body?

That's the kind of yoga that stays with you long after you roll up your mat.

🌿 Restore & Flow is an online space for movement, mindfulness, exploration, and coming back to yourself.

Practice when it works for you.

Learn at your own pace.

And return whenever you need a little more space to breathe.

You don't have to start over...

Maybe you've fallen out of your routine.
Maybe you've been too busy.
Maybe you've spent the last few months taking care of everyone else.

Maybe your body has changed.
Maybe your priorities have changed.
Maybe the person you were a year ago isn't the person you are today.

That's okay.

You don't have to go backward.
You don't have to "get back in shape."
You don't have to become the version of yourself you think you've lost.

You can simply begin again—right where you are.

One breath.
One walk.
One stretch.

One quiet moment.
One imperfect practice.

Growth isn't always about becoming someone new.
Sometimes it's about coming home to yourself.
.. Again and again. 🌿

Your weekly reminder: you don't have to carry the whole week into the weekend.

Before you rush into errands, family plans, work that didn't get finished, or everything else waiting for you...

Pause.

Breathe.

Move.

My Friday online yoga class is a little space in the week where you don't have to accomplish anything.

You simply get to show up.

From your living room.

From your office.

In your pajamas if that's what the day requires. 😉

And yes, there may even be a feline interruption or two.

Because this is yoga for real life—not a perfectly curated wellness routine.

Join me online Friday morning for movement, breath, mindfulness, and a chance to reconnect with yourself before the weekend begins.

🌿 Live online
🌿 Beginner-friendly
🌿 Can't make it live? The practice is available afterward.

Come as you are.

What if taking better care of yourself didn't require finding more time?

Maybe it starts with changing what we think self-care has to look like.

Self-care can be:

A walk before your workday begins.

Three slow breaths before answering the next email.

Stretching your shoulders while your coffee brews.

Five quiet minutes in the sunshine.

Writing down what's taking up space in your mind.

Turning your phone off for half an hour.

Getting on your yoga mat for 20 minutes instead of waiting until you have an entire uninterrupted afternoon.

Wellness doesn't have to be elaborate to be meaningful.

I've become increasingly interested in the practices that are simple enough to actually become part of our lives.

Because the goal isn't to create another perfect routine to maintain.

It's to create small moments of care that help us feel more like ourselves.

What is one small thing that helps you come back to yourself? 🌿

**I've spent a lot of my life learning how to listen to my body.**

Dance taught me to notice alignment, strength, balance, rhythm, and movement.

Yoga taught me something different.

It taught me to listen without immediately trying to change what I was feeling.

There is a subtle but important difference.

Instead of asking:

*"How far can I go?"*

I began asking:

*"What do I need today?"*

Some days the answer is movement.

Some days it's strength.

Some days it's stillness.

And some days it's simply permission to stop pushing.

I think this is one of the greatest gifts yoga has given me—and one of the things I most want to share with my students.

Your body is communicating with you all the time.

You don't have to be an expert to listen.

You just have to slow down enough to hear it. 🌿

Happy National Relaxation Day ☺️ August 15

**You don't have to earn rest.**

You don't have to finish the to-do list.
You don't have to respond to every email.

You don't have to make sure everyone else is taken care of first.

You don't have to reach the point of complete exhaustion before you're allowed to stop.

Rest is not a reward.

It is part of being human.

And sometimes, choosing to rest is actually what allows us to return to our lives with more patience, clarity, creativity, and energy.

This is one of the reasons restorative yoga has become such a meaningful part of my teaching.

It gives us an opportunity to practice something that can be surprisingly difficult:
**Doing less.**

If you've been needing a little permission to pause, I'll be offering Restorative Yoga tomorrow morning at the Drum Orpheum Rehearsal Hall in Martinsburg, WV.

🌿 10:30 AM–12:00 PM
🌿 $30
🌿 Beginners welcome

There's still time to give yourself a morning of rest.
I'd love to see you there.

What if the thing you need most this weekend isn't another thing to accomplish… but an opportunity to rest?

If you've been feeling stretched thin lately—mentally, emotionally, physically—I want to invite you to spend a little time simply being.

This Sunday, I'll be gathering with a small group at **Drum Orpheum Rehearsal Hall** for a special **Restorative Yoga** practice.

Restorative yoga is different from the yoga you may typically picture.

There is no striving to stretch farther.

No trying to keep up.

No expectation that you need to be flexible or experienced.

Instead, we'll use supportive props and gentle postures to create an environment where the body can soften, the breath can slow, and the mind can begin to settle.

It's an opportunity to step away from the constant doing and give yourself permission to receive.

And if you're a busy woman who spends most of your days taking care of everyone and everything else, perhaps that's exactly what you need.

Leave a little more grounded, a little more spacious, and hopefully reminded of what it feels like to truly rest.

I'd love to share this peaceful morning with you.

Today I had the incredible blessing of being invited to teach yoga for the Shenandoah University Arts & Sciences Writers’ Retreat at the beautiful Cool Spring River Campus. 🌿

What a wonderful way to begin the day—gathering together to ground, move, breathe, and practice yoga before stepping into a day devoted to creativity and the written word.

As someone with a background in dance and a deep love for both movement and writing, it felt especially meaningful to be part of a space where creativity was being nurtured in so many different forms.

There is something beautiful about beginning a creative day by first coming home to the body.

Feeling our feet on the earth.

Following the breath.

Moving with intention.

Creating a little quiet space within ourselves.

Sometimes we need that pause before the words, ideas, and inspiration can begin to flow.

I’m so grateful to have been welcomed into this wonderful retreat and to have had the opportunity to share a little yoga, mindfulness, and movement with such a thoughtful community of writers and educators.

Thank you to Shenandoah University Arts & Sciences for inviting me. What a beautiful way to start the day. 💚

One of my favorite teachings from the Yoga Sutras begins with a surprisingly simple idea... Yoga isn't just about what we do with our bodies.

It's about what happens in our minds.

One of the very first teachings in the Yoga Sutras says:

"Yoga is the quieting of the fluctuations of the mind." -Yoga Sutra 1.2

I find this so comforting.

Because if you're anything like me, your mind doesn't always slow down just because your body does.

There are grocery lists to remember.

Emails waiting to be answered.

People to care for.

Plans to make.

Worries that seem to replay on a loop.

The practice of yoga doesn't promise that these thoughts will disappear. Instead, it gently teaches us to observe them without becoming consumed by them. Through mindful movement, breath, and stillness, we begin to create a little more space—a little more clarity—and a little more peace.

This teaching has become one of the foundations of my own practice and the way I approach my classes. Yoga isn't about escaping life. It's about learning to meet life with a calmer, steadier mind.

Inside my Restore & Flow Membership, I've created a series exploring the Yoga Sutras in a practical, approachable way. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali provide applications of ancient wisdom for your modern life. Together, we uncover how these timeless teachings can help us navigate our day to day with greater presence, compassion, and ease.

Because sometimes the most meaningful transformation doesn't happen when we change our circumstances.

It happens when we learn to quiet the noise within.

🌿 If you're curious about the philosophy behind yoga and how it can enrich your daily life, I'd love to welcome you into the Restore & Flow Membership. Link in my bio or on my website.
