A preconference workshop kicked off the 33rd National Evidence-Based Practice Conference focusing on Leading the Change: Applying the Iowa Model for EBP Success. University of Iowa Health Care nurses Casie Fowler, Molly Kucera, Seth Jackson, Michele Farrington, Kirsten Hanrahan, Elyse Laures, and Courtney Heid facilitated this workshop to guide participants through a step-by-step approach to the EBP process.

These University of Iowa Health Care nurses shared their leadership knowledge in the panel, “Growing Implementation Leadership”: Sarah Hackbarth, Laura Cullen, Donna Dolezal, Jessica McDaniel, Abby Lewis, Donna Brimeyer, and Katie Reed. Molly Kucera interviewed Jaime Brandt for another look at leadership in, “Player, Coach, Mentor: Always a Leader”.

At the recent University of Iowa Health Care 33rd National Evidence-Based Practice Conference, several outstanding nurses were honored for their impactful work. Claire Ronnebaum and Donna Dolezal received the Laura Cullen Outstanding EBP Abstract Award for their project, “Teach-Back Method and Eye-Level Communication for Improved Home Care Instructions”. Randi Boell was awarded the Graduate Student EBP Project/Capstone Poster Award for the project, “Optimizing Referral Processes and Care Transitions in Rural Health”. Congratulations!
