One of the things I’m passionate about is growing the lactation field, especially as I age (my oldest just started college y’all! 😭 I have a whole baby adult out in the world! But don’t worry, I still have two kids in elementary school 🤦‍♀️ I’m not going anywhere for a long while 😂) I want to make sure there is a new generation of IBCLCs prepared to continue to serve our community.

My goal is to build a pathway through my office and Kala is the brave soul traveling this pathway first. She has been working the front desk for over a year now while she finished her lactation education. And with her background as a doula she knows how to nurture and care for a dyad in their vulnerable postpartum state. She is the herbal expert in the office and I’m just so proud of her! Some of you have had the pleasure of working with our newest IBCLC already, but for those who haven’t I’m thrilled to introduce Rachel Ashley, RN, BSN, IBCLC as part of the CLC team! 🎉

Rachel comes to us with a wide background of experience and she arrived at just the right moment! She’s worked as a nurse in mother/baby, pediatrics, and provided lactation services in hospital, at home visits, and in a pediatric office.
