Topic Tuesday: Guilt & Shame in Recovery 💜

Guilt and shame can feel heavy, but they do not have to define your story. Guilt reminds us that we can make different choices, while shame tells us that we are our mistakes. Recovery is about learning the difference, taking accountability, offering yourself grace, and choosing growth over self-punishment.

Your past may be part of your story, but it does not have to determine your future. Healing happens when we replace shame with compassion, embrace forgiveness, and remember that change is possible. 💜

You are more than your mistakes. You are worthy of healing, hope, and a new beginning.

💜 Wellness Sunday 💜

Before a new week begins, take a moment to care for the one person who will carry you through it—you.

Recovery and healing aren’t just about the big milestones. They’re built through small, intentional choices each day: getting enough rest, nourishing your body, staying connected to your support system, and making time to recharge.

A healthy week starts with a healthy mindset. Give yourself the grace to reset, refocus, and move forward one step at a time.

Healing begins with one healthy choice at a time.

The Ripple Effect Award 🥇

Somebody’s Someone – Overdose Awareness Day 2026

One act of kindness. One encouraging word. One person believing in another. Sometimes that’s all it takes to change a life.

The Ripple Effect Award honors an individual whose compassion, leadership, advocacy, and commitment to recovery have created a lasting impact throughout our community. This award recognizes someone whose influence extends far beyond what they may ever realize—someone who inspires hope, empowers others, and reminds us that recovery is possible.

Whether they are a peer supporter, counselor, advocate, first responder, healthcare professional, community leader, person in recovery, family member, or volunteer, we want to recognize the difference they make every day.

💜 Nominate someone who:

* Inspires hope in others
* Positively impacts the recovery community
* Demonstrates compassion and servant leadership
* Goes above and beyond to help others
* Creates a ripple effect of healing, hope, and lasting change

🏆 The recipient will be honored during the Somebody’s Someone – Overdose Awareness Day 2026 event on August 31st in Ironton, Ohio hosted by Focus Residential Group and Land of Goshen Treatment Center.
