Self-care isn't about doing everything perfectly. It's about finding what helps you feel like yourself again.
Sometimes it's five quiet minutes, saying no when you need to, moving your body or making time for the people who fill your cup.

If you've been putting yourself last lately, let this be your reminder to take a moment for yourself. Happy International Self-Care Day.

"The biggest thing we want to make people aware of is that drowning doesn't look like you think it does," said Michael Fraley, Aspirus trauma registrar and team leader of the Oneida County Public Safety Dive Team.

Fraley reminds us that drowning is often silent. A person who is drowning may not be able to wave or call for help. Instead, they may appear to be struggling to stay afloat, making little forward progress or unable to keep their head above water.

Recognizing these signs and acting quickly could save a life. Before heading to the lake or pool, take a moment to locate rescue equipment, such as life rings or throwable flotation devices, and always keep a close eye on children around the water.
