In 2023 I found myself completely alone for the first time in my life - out of a decade-long relationship, grieving my kitty of 17 years, leaving my corporate career with not nearly enough money saved. I had bought a Sprinter cargo van but had no clue how to use power tools to convert it.
As a woman, I was raised to be partnered, not to be alone. To lean on a husband, a family, someone. So when I found myself on my own, I was completely unequipped for it. Practically: the home repairs, big and small decisions, finances. Emotionally: no one to process with, a nervous system constantly feeling unsafe. But most importantly I had no support web to catch me.
Yes, I have amazing friends. And they all have busy lives - children, aging parents, career, finances. They were there for me⦠but at the end of the day it was just me.
Being alone unequipped is exhausting. That exhaustion is what makes women settle - for the trip not taken, the life not chosen, the relationship they donāt actually want.
When I faced that biggest fear of my life - the fear of being alone, I actually found exactly what I needed. Not to adapt to being lonely. But to become a woman who can do anything.
Thatās why I built Equipped to Go! - 12 weeks to get your dream trip booked, a year of women beside you while you actually go, and a coach whoās genuinely done this herself.
