🚗 Think it's just whiplash? It could be a concussion.

After a car accident, it's normal to expect some soreness. Neck pain, stiffness, and headaches are often brushed off as "just whiplash."

But many people are surprised to learn they've also sustained a concussion.

At Southern California Concussion & Spine Center, we regularly evaluate patients who thought they only had whiplash—only to discover that a concussion was causing lingering headaches, dizziness, brain fog, balance problems, and difficulty concentrating.

The sooner a concussion is identified, the sooner you can begin the right treatment and reduce the risk of long-lasting symptoms.

If you've been in a motor vehicle accident and you're still not feeling like yourself, don't ignore the signs.

📞 Call or text us at (949) 653-6777 to schedule your FREE consultation and find out if your symptoms could be related to a concussion.

🚨 Exciting news! 🚨

We're proud to introduce PhysioSensing — the newest advanced balance and vestibular assessment technology, now available at Southern California Concussion & Spine Center.

We're one of only a handful of practices in the United States offering this cutting-edge technology, allowing our patients access to one of the most advanced concussion and balance assessment tools available.

After a concussion, dizziness, balance problems, and feelings of instability can persist long after the initial injury. PhysioSensing allows us to measure your balance, postural control, and vestibular function with precise, data-driven assessments. This helps identify deficits that aren't always visible during a traditional exam, while also tracking your progress over time so you can see the measurable improvements throughout your recovery.

By combining innovative technology with individualized care, we're able to create more targeted treatment plans and help our patients recover with greater confidence.

If you're experiencing dizziness, balance issues, or lingering symptoms after a concussion, we're here to help. Call or text us with any questions or to schedule an evaluation.

A concussion is often described as a "mild" traumatic brain injury, but for many patients, the effects can feel anything but mild. While most people begin to recover within a few weeks, some continue to experience symptoms for months after their injury. If you're still struggling with headaches, dizziness, brain fog, fatigue, anxiety, sleep problems, or light sensitivity weeks after your concussion, you may be experiencing Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS).

At Southern California Concussion & Spine Center, we frequently help patients throughout Orange County who are frustrated by lingering symptoms and unsure why they haven't returned to feeling like themselves. Understanding what is happening inside the brain and nervous system is the first step toward recovery.

If you are struggling with persistent concussion symptoms, know that recovery is possible and you do not have to navigate it alone. Call or text us today at (949) 653-6777 to schedule a free consultation.

Youth sports provide incredible benefits for children, including physical fitness, confidence, teamwork, and lifelong healthy habits. However, participation in sports also comes with injury risks, including concussions.

Every year, thousands of young athletes experience sports-related concussions. In Orange County, concussions commonly occur in football, soccer, hockey, basketball, baseball, softball, cheerleading, wrestling, martial arts, and other contact or collision sports.

One of the biggest mistakes parents can make is assuming a child is fully recovered simply because they "seem fine" or want to return to play. Returning to sports too soon can prolong recovery and increase the risk of additional injury.

If your child has sustained a sports-related concussion, the team at Southern California Concussion & Spine Center can help identify the source of symptoms and guide a safe recovery process.

Contact our Irvine office today to schedule a free concussion evaluation and learn more about evidence-based concussion rehabilitation for youth athletes.

Still dizzy after a concussion? Dizziness is one of the most common and persistent symptoms following a concussion, yet it is also one of the most misunderstood.

Patients often describe feeling “off,” “unsteady,” or “not quite right,” even weeks after their injury. Many are told that these symptoms will resolve with time, or that they are simply part of the healing process. However, when dizziness persists, it is usually an indication that a specific system has been affected and has not yet been properly addressed.

At Southern California Concussion & Spine Center, we frequently evaluate patients who continue to experience dizziness despite otherwise normal testing or prior treatment. In most cases, the issue is not a lack of healing, but a lack of understanding regarding the source of the symptom.

If you're looking for concussion testing, dizziness evaluation, or concussion treatment, our team in Irvine can help identify the cause of your symptoms and create a personalized recovery plan. Learn more by checking out our latest blog and request a complimentary discovery call today.

Ever feel like your eyes feel strained or heavy while reading? Maybe you get headaches while working or driving; well it may be unresolved eye movement disorder that developed after a concussion!

This patient experienced symptoms for two years AND suffered a second concussion and was unable to work because of the headaches and dizziness she would experience. When asked to follow a target with her eyes, we found that her left eye couldn't stay on target. After just a month and a half of therapy later she was able to return to work!

With our advanced assessment technology, we can determine EXACTLY where the problem is and how to rehabilitate it; regardless of how long ago the injury was!
