My name is Jennifer Maupin, and I have known Anthony for many years and recently had the privilege of working alongside him at A+ Pediatrics. I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Anthony and his family to help support them during this incredibly difficult medical journey.

Our dear friend and coworker, Anthony Lee, is currently facing the fight of his life following a kidney transplant and severe and unexpected complications.

For those who know Anthony, they know he is one of the kindest, most faithful, and selfless people you could ever meet. He has dedicated more than 28 years of his life to healthcare, serving his patients and community with compassion and love. At A+ Pediatrics, he is known not only for his hard work and dedication, but for the genuine care he shows every child and family he encounters. Above all else, Anthony loves God, his family, and helping others.

Several years ago, Anthony underwent a kidney transplant that gave him more time with the people he loves. When that kidney eventually began to fail, Anthony was faced with another challenging chapter in his journey. Despite working full-time and continuing to care for others, he spent every evening and weekend performing dialysis treatments on himself at home while waiting and praying for another donor.

When no donor match could be found, Anthony’s daughter made the selfless decision to donate her own kidney to save her father’s life without hesitation. One month ago, Anthony underwent another kidney transplant thanks to her incredible gift of love.

Since the transplant, however, Anthony has experienced unexpected complications, including signs of kidney rejection and a serious infection that recently required another hospital admission. He continues to endure significant pain and ongoing medical complications while remaining under intensive medical care during the fight of his life. He has spent very little time at home since surgery, and his family has remained faithfully by his side through every moment.

While Anthony continues to face serious medical challenges, one thing has never changed — his faith in God and the love surrounding him from family, friends, coworkers, patients, and community members whose lives he has touched over the years.

As his family focuses on supporting him during this critical time, the financial burden of medical bills, medications, travel, lost work, and everyday living expenses continues to grow. We are starting this GoFundMe to help relieve some of that burden and allow the family to focus fully on his care and recovery.

Most importantly, we ask for your prayers. Please pray for healing, strength, comfort, wisdom for his medical team, and peace for his family during this incredibly difficult journey.

Anthony has spent his life caring for and serving others. Now it is our turn to surround him and his family with the same love, compassion, support, and generosity he has always shown to everyone around him.

We had such a great time at the Easter Extravaganza hosted by the Estill County Library at the Kiwanis Ballpark today! 🐣💛 It was so wonderful connecting with our community and seeing so many familiar faces.
