When the Covid-19 pandemic hit and healthcare workers faced a desperate shortage in PPE, Aditi Sharma, who is finishing a dermatology residency at UC Irvine, vowed to help solve the problem. She founded Recycablu, a non-profit that uses surgical waste to make effective face masks.
