Thanks to the support of generous Mercy Health Foundation donors, families like the Glassons can access essential therapy services close to home at Mercy Health — Marcum and Wallace Hospital. Their story is a powerful reminder of the difference community support makes for children and parents alike.

Connie Glasson knows a thing or two about rehabilitation and occupational health services. She is mother to two special needs children who benefit from regular therapy. Both she and her husband have rehabbed from injuries and surgeries. Because of donors, the Glasson family has been able to enjoy therapy services close to home at Mercy Health — Marcum and Wallace Hospital.

“We’ve been going there for a long time,” Connie says. “They do an excellent job, and we are so grateful.”

Connie shudders to think what she would do if rehabilitation services weren’t available in Irvine. Her children have received physical, occupational and speech therapy. How far would she have to travel to find those services elsewhere? Would she have to cut back on appointments, potentially setting her children back? Because of donors, she doesn’t have to think about those questions.

“I want donors to know their money is being well-spent,” Connie says. “When a child needs a special piece of equipment, their gift helps make sure it is there for them. I can’t say enough about everything they do for us.”
