Recent death of Hayden Pantiere who apparently struggled with Alcohol and drug dependence as well as other health issues. This brings to light a very serious medical condition pervasive in the US society.
This is unfortunately an expected outcome especially for women.
Women are more susceptible for a variety of reasons.
Unfortunately, I see a lot of alcohol and other drug dependence related injury and early death in both my private and hospital practice. I see it in both sexes.@
This is a rampant epidemic in our society affecting 10% of US population.
Alcohol is a legal drug and if misused can lead to significant organ damage .
Alcohol is a total body poison. Also, avoid consuming acetaminophen and NSaids with significant alcohol intake as well.
Men can have 1 oz a day but women can ‘t tolerate any without having potential health issues.
My favorite drink is filtered water or tonic with basil, mint and stevia on the rocks.
Best to leave the drugs, alcohol , and chili peppers alone. Drink 4 cups of coffee a day is exactly good for the liver as is real tea.
Keep carbohydrate consumption to a minimum.
Exercise 150 minutes a week.
All patients and anyone can call the office to make an appointment get a liver check up.
We offer radiologic imaging in the office twice a month which includes both abdominal ultrasound and fibroscan .
We charge an affordable price , a fraction of cost of most outside imaging center and hospitals.
Most imaging centers and hospitals except for the liver centers don’t offer fibroscan.
The fibroscan is an excellent non invasive way to look at the level of fat and scarring to the liver.
May urge to make an appointment at your earliest convenience.
Good evening and health to all!
