Many parents assume they should wait until a problem feels serious before reaching out for lactation support. In reality, people contact me for all kinds of reasons, including:

• Painful nursing
• Trouble latching
• Concerns about milk supply
• Pumping and returning to work
• Fussiness or discomfort during and after feeds
• Tongue tie concerns
• Bottle refusal
• Plugged ducts and oversupply
• Starting solids
• Weaning
• Preparing to breastfeed before baby arrives

One thing I hear often is, "I thought I just had to deal with it."

Maybe someone told you the pain was normal. Maybe you were reassured that your baby would eventually figure it out. Maybe you weren't sure lactation support was even available after leaving the hospital.

The truth is that support isn't just for the first few days after birth, and it's not only for families in crisis. Whether you're facing a challenge or simply want reassurance that things are going well, it's okay to ask questions.

Many feeding concerns are easier to address when they're caught early, but it's never too late to get support.
