August is Appendix Cancer Awareness Month

Appendix cancer is rare — so rare that it’s often discovered by accident during surgery for something else entirely, like appendicitis. Because symptoms can be vague or easily mistaken for other conditions, awareness and early detection matter more than ever.

This month, we’re taking a moment to shine a light on this often-overlooked cancer and the patients and families who face it. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, supporting a loved one, or simply here to learn, know that our team at Jackson Oncology Associates is here for you every step of the way.

If something doesn’t feel right, don’t wait — talk to your doctor. Early conversations can make all the difference.

July is Sarcoma & Bone Cancer Awareness Month.

Sarcoma is a rare form of cancer that develops in the bones and soft tissues, and because it's less common, it often doesn't get the awareness it deserves.

This month, we want to change that.

Sarcoma can affect anyone, at any age. Symptoms can be easy to miss or mistake for something else, which is why awareness matters so much:

• Unexplained lumps or swelling
• Bone pain that worsens over time or at night
• Limited range of motion in a joint
• Fatigue or unexplained weight loss

If something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts and talk to your doctor.

At Jackson Oncology, we stand with every sarcoma patient and family navigating this diagnosis. You are not alone, and you are not forgotten.

May is National Cancer Research Month — and we think that's worth celebrating.

Behind every treatment option, every survival statistic, and every patient who hears "you're in remission" is decades of dedicated research.

Cancer research has transformed what a diagnosis means. Survival rates for many cancers have improved dramatically over the past 50 years — and that progress didn't happen by accident.

This month, we're grateful for:
• The scientists and researchers working tirelessly on new discoveries
• The clinical trial participants who make breakthroughs possible
• The organizations funding the work that changes lives

At Jackson Oncology, we believe in the power of research — and we're proud to be part of a field that never stops pushing forward.

Here's to the progress made, and the progress still to come.

May is Brain Cancer Awareness Month.

Brain tumors affect people of all ages — and for patients and families navigating a diagnosis, the road can feel overwhelming and isolating.

This month, we want to shine a light on:
- The ongoing research bringing new treatments closer to reality
- The communities and caregivers showing up every day
- The importance of knowing the symptoms: persistent headaches, vision or speech changes, memory issues, seizures, or unexplained personality shifts

If you or someone you love is experiencing neurological symptoms that are new or worsening, please don't wait to seek care.

At Jackson Oncology, we honor the strength of every brain cancer patient and their loved ones. You are not alone.

May is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month.

Bladder cancer is the 10th most common cancer worldwide — yet it doesn't always get the attention it deserves.

One of the most important things to know: blood in the urine is the most common early warning sign, and it's one that's easy to dismiss or explain away. Don't.

Other symptoms to watch for:
• Frequent or urgent urination
• Pain or burning during urination
• Pelvic pain

If something doesn't feel right, talk to your doctor. Early detection makes a difference.

Jackson Oncology stands with everyone affected by bladder cancer this month and every month.
