Our No-Cost Labor and Delivery Class prepares you for your big day. The class is taught by Crystal Shauger, RN, our Nurse Manager, as well as guests from sister agencies to learn about all the services available.

🤰Open to clients who have reached at least 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Volunteer Spotlight: Sherri Eubanks
Sherri Eubanks has been a huge blessing at our Monroeville site. Her smile is infectious, and you can just feel how much she loves our clients,
For the past 18 months, Sherri has enjoyed serving as a Client Advocate at Alpha Women's Resource Center. She first learned about the ministry through a member of her church and felt drawn by a concern for young women.
One of Sherri's favorite parts of volunteering is getting to know the women who come through our doors and having the opportunity to encourage and share with them.
What she loves most about Alpha is the life-changing impact of the Earn While You Learn program. "I'm so thankful that I am able to share Jesus," she says. She also loves seeing clients gain confidence and a sense of accomplishment as they learn valuable parenting and life skills.
Sherri wants others to know that Alpha is much more than many people realize. It's a well-rounded ministry that provides practical, emotional, and spiritual support while investing in women and families.

Staff Spotlight: Meet Our Center Director, Teresa Howard

For more than 20 years, Teresa Howard has faithfully served at Alpha Women's Resource Center. Before joining our staff, she spent three years as a dedicated volunteer—a testament to her heart for this ministry.

As our Center Director, Teresa oversees our client services, manages our incredible staff and volunteers, provides counseling, and keeps our day-to-day operations running smoothly. Her leadership helps ensure that every person who walks through our doors is welcomed with compassion, professionalism, and genuine care.

When asked what she loves most about her job, Teresa shared that it's the people. She enjoys working alongside our staff and volunteers, counseling clients, and seeing lives changed through hope and encouragement.

Teresa describes Alpha as a Christ-centered ministry that cares for the whole family with compassion and dignity. She is passionate about meeting people where they are, sharing hope, and helping connect them with the resources they need.

Behind the scenes, Teresa's steady leadership, servant's heart, and genuine love for others help make Alpha the welcoming place it is. We are so grateful for all she does and for the countless lives she has impacted through her faithful service.

Preparing for a baby doesn't have to feel overwhelming. We offer Earn While You Learn lessons on numerous topics, such as pregnancy, parenting, life skills, and much more. Lessons include a video that you can watch online or you can watch it at the Center. You can earn the supplies you need: diapers, clothes, toiletries, car seats, swings, cribs, and everything in between simply by completing the lessons.

What started as a simple stop to pick up a sign became a calling to serve.

Nearly four years ago, Bobbie Overstreet felt led to learn more about volunteering at Alpha Women's Resource Center. After much prayer, she joined our team and has been faithfully serving ever since.

When asked what she loves most about volunteering, Bobbie shared, “It gives me an opportunity to minister to women with love and grace.”

She also appreciates the kindness of the staff and the genuine desire to love and encourage others.

Bobbie's advice to anyone considering volunteering? Pray and seek the Lord's guidance. It is rewarding to serve!
