25 Years of Research β Week 24
As we continue our 25-year journey of innovation, The Rane Center remains committed to advancing venous care through research that helps improve diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life for patients with complex venous and lymphatic conditions.
This week, we are highlighting research on venous lymphedema, a type of swelling that can occur when problems with the veins affect the lymphatic system. The study found that venous lymphedema can sometimes be mistaken for other forms of lymphedema, which may lead to less effective treatment. Proper testing can help identify when a vein problem is contributing to swelling and determine the most appropriate treatment.
When a venous issue is the underlying cause, treatments such as venous stenting may significantly improve or even correct the problem, giving some patients options beyond lifelong conservative treatments alone.
Follow along as we continue sharing research that helps shape the future of venous care.
