Hands On Medical Massage

Hands On Medical Massage I specialize in helping people who are in pain or seeking relief from tension and restricted movement.

As both a licensed massage therapist and a registered nurse, I take a medical approach focusing on assessment, treatment, and long-term improvement. https://handsonmedicalmassage.com/schedule-an-appointment/

One of the most common things I hear is:

"I didn't realize how tight I was until it was gone."

The body is remarkably good at adapting. Tight shoulders become your normal. Stiff hips become your normal. Frequent headaches become your normal.

Over time, we stop noticing small limitations because they've been there for so long.

Sometimes the goal of massage isn't just reducing pain. It's helping you remember what normal movement and comfort are supposed to feel like.

Your body may have adapted to the problem. That doesn't mean the problem should stay.

Things are heating up here in southeastern Ohio but life doesn’t slow down. It just keeps coming. Take a minute to slow down and breathe. Stress can have many effects on the mind and the body. Massage can help address many issues, not all, but many of them.

I see patients Monday through Saturday. 8:30am through 7:30pm.

Warmer weather means more yard work, walks, hikes, sports, travel, and long days outside. Every year as temperatures rise, I start seeing more strains, dehydration-related muscle cramps, headaches, and overuse injuries from people jumping back into activity too quickly.

From both a nursing and massage therapy perspective, a few simple things go a long way:
• Stay hydrated
• Pace yourself when returning to outdoor activities
• Stretch and move throughout the day
• Don’t ignore persistent pain or tightness

Your body usually gives warning signs before a bigger problem develops. Listen to them early instead of pushing through them.

Enjoy the warmer weather safely and keep moving. ☀️

As the weather warms up and activity levels increase, hydration matters more than most people realize.

Muscles, fascia, joints, and connective tissues all function better when your body is properly hydrated. Dehydration can contribute to muscle tightness, fatigue, cramping, headaches, and slower recovery after work, exercise, or even everyday activity.

Water won’t magically fix pain… but being dehydrated can definitely make your body feel worse.

Your muscles are already working hard. Give them what they need. 💧

The school year is wrapping up (May 22nd), backpacks are getting tossed in closets, alarms are being shut off, and summer routines are starting to take over.

For a lot of people, though, the body doesn’t instantly switch into “relax mode.”

Teachers, bus drivers, parents, coaches, office staff, and students all carry stress differently. Tight shoulders. Headaches. Jaw tension. Low back pain. Fatigue.

Sometimes your body keeps holding onto the school year long after it ends.

Summer can be a good time to reset, recover, and move a little easier again before the next busy season starts.

And for the kids and teens jumping straight into summer sports, tournaments, camps, and outdoor activities…their bodies notice that sudden increase in activity too.

Here’s to slower mornings, open windows, sunshine, and moving a little better this summer. ☀️

Happy Nurse’s Week to the incredible nurses who give so much of themselves every single day. Your compassion, strength, and dedication make a difference in countless lives. 💙

This week, I hope you take a moment to care for yourself too — you deserve rest, healing, and support just as much as those you care for. Thank you for all that you do.
