Currently, adult and pediatric heart and kidney transplants, as well as adult liver and pancreas transplants, are performed at UMMC. Patients in need of a transplant no longer have to travel out of the state to receive treatment. Evaluation, surgery and follow-up are offered through University Transplant. The specialized care team of experienced transplant surgeons, hepatologists, nephrologists, and advanced heart failure cardiologists focuses on personalized family-centered care. For patients who live more than one hour from Jackson, we provide evaluation services and immediate post-transplant care in Grenada and Gulfport.
