A New Chapter for Charlie’s House: Continuing Our Legacy of Hope

In 2001, we celebrated the opening of Charlie’s House, a space dedicated to providing men in early recovery a true opportunity to rebuild their lives. Today, as we cut the ribbon on our new Charlie’s House, we reflect on 25 incredible years of progress.

Charlie’s House represents more than just a building; it symbolizes hope, courage, and the support necessary for a fresh start. Recovery is about moving forward, rebuilding relationships, and rediscovering one’s purpose. It reminds us that every individual, regardless of their past, has the potential for a brighter future.

Thank you to our community for your unwavering support and to our dedicated staff for your compassion and hard work. Your commitment transforms lives and makes every new beginning possible.

As we open the doors to this new building, we honor the vision that started it all and every man who has walked through our doors seeking change. This ribbon-cutting marks not just a new space but the continuation of a compassionate legacy where hope and new beginnings thrive.

Here’s to the future of Charlie’s House and the lives it will touch. Sometimes, a life-changing journey begins with simply opening a door. Today, we took that step together.

Motivation Monday

1979 — Aspell was just beginning.

What started with Charlie Gay opening the doors of Aspell Manor to men suffering from alcoholism was rooted in a simple belief: people deserve a place to heal, recover, and begin again.

That first home was only the beginning.

Today, that vision has grown. Aspell serves both men and women, providing recovery and supportive services across three counties.

From one home in 1979 to a network of services reaching people and families throughout our communities, the mission remains at the heart of everything we do:
Recovery is possible.
Lives can change.
And every person deserves the opportunity to begin again.
